Six Months Sober
Six Months Sober
Hi everyone!
So it's been 6 months now since I have had a drink - the longest period of abstinence in 20 years.
Over the past 6 months I've improved my life in a few ways: I don't miss any days at work now, my confidence has improved, I see my family more, I socialise more and I have a new hobby/side income.
Today I'm going to see a bariatric surgeon about getting my man-boobs and associated beer gut lopped off.
For anyone interested, my main strategies have been using Antabuse and coming here if I felt depressed or if I felt like a drink. I'm not an AA person :P
Thanks for your support!

Hi notgonnastoptry! All the best with your efforts and congrats on your 3 weeks!
My advice is to lean on your supports if and when you need to or you think you might need to. Plan ahead and nip your AV in the bud before it can convince you to do something you'll regret!
