could somebody please tell me a few basic things about the site, it's quite a large forum and am still getting my bearings.

Will I get a notification in the upper-right when somebody quotes a post I have made?

What is the easiest way to go back to threads I have posted in, is there a list of threads I have posted in on my profile or somewhere??

Yeap we all can visit our posts from our profile, top left is "user cp", on the list is "your profile" and there are tabs that bring you to the following within the "statistics" tab:

Notifications on the right come from private messages, friend requests, or posts on your profile!!

If you look at your post here in this thread in the top right of the box there is a permalink i think that adds to your subscribed threads

Once you reply to a post you are automatically subscribed...the two tools I use are going to your User CP (control panel) and click on Subscribed Posts in the drop down menu or just click on My Posts

I don't think anything happens notificationwise when your post or a part of your post is quoted

You can also click the drop-down arrow next to "Quick Links" or "My Posts" in the menu bar near the top of every page. In "Quick Links" are lots of helpful links, including near the bottom, "Subscribed threads."

I navigate solely through the menu bar. You can investigate by just clicking on the little drop-down arrows next to the category tabs.

While logged in, click on the My Posts link in the menu bar.

Notifications in the upper right are for Private Messages (PMs) not replies to posts you've made

you can also look at your past posts or threads you've started by clinking your name beside any post of yours and scrolling down the drop down menu

sorry sobes but that's not true - the permalink just gives you a link for that particular post, nothing more than that

Not sure what you mean about 'automatically subscribed' Toadie?

you can subscribe to a thread by going to 'thread tools' at the top of the thread and selecting 'subscribe to this thread'.

That way, you will get notification via email if someone posts in the thread
