Stay sober this weekend July 24!
Awwww Ruby. I don't know what to say. Sounds like he is in a bad place mentally right now. I know how he and you are feeling. Booze can and does cause some pretty major relationship issues. Here you are, doing great sober, while he's maybe figuring out drinking isn't worth it. You are in different places right now. But if he quits - maybe things can work out ok? Even if he doesn't - you will be fine.
Oh and I get ma'amed all the time. On the other hand, had a guy I went to high school with tell me I was hot then and still mighty fine on Sunday. Made my day. Even though he's not anyone I would date.

Oh and he said it right in front of my guy friend. And then while I was in the bathroom he asked guy friend if we were dating. He said no, just friends. But I think it made him a little jealous.

Whooee MLD! that's awesome!
My sitter said she thought I was her age. She's ten years younger. That was nice.
Mr. Ruby cycles in and out of sobriety. He had almost 18 months and then drank, precipitating my last relapse. Then I got sober again and have stayed so. He got sober, had 10 months, slipped, then slid into relapse and there we have it. That was before Christmas. My personal opinion is that he's going through a mid life crisis at 40 and doesn't want to give up the rock and roll lifestyle. We are, for sure, in different places.

Hi all,
I hope you are all keeping well as we travel through the week.
I think you are damn cool Ruby!! Fonze level cool!!
Was at a funeral in my home town. The mother of a childhood friend. So many faces now matured. Some had the faces of success, employment, family and children. Some had the face of hardship and trauma. Others had the face of the psychiatric. And many faces were ravaged by years of alcohol and smoking. A day of myriad emotions.

"Crucifiction?" "Yes. Bloody Romans" "What? Could be worse" "What could be worse than crucifiction?!!!" "Could of been stabbed...."
I don't know how many times I said that line when someone complains to me about trivial things.........could be worse, could of been stabbed

Hey, Welcome, queerasfolk. One day at a time is a good thing to do.
On the disposal: Sao, I read that about the oil/WD40. I also looked at the thing. It is really rusted. I mean, rust running over the edge and all the way around the flange. Yeah, I'm not sure how long it's been leaking. I mean, ideally I would have paid closer attention, but drinking and it didn't leak until not too long ago. It's just a little drip - a few drops every time I use the water.
If I ruin the drain/sink by torqueing the thing, Imma hafta buy a sink anyway - and I'd be without a kitchen sink for a week.
I'm leaning toward the new sink and faucet. I mean, even if I have the plumber do just the disposal removal and re-plumb - I'd be looking at $1000 anyway, because you know he would dink around taking it out.
If I put in a new sink, I'm thinking I could call around for approximate quotes first.
I would like a new sink...also just a new kitchen in general, but ya know.
Also (all about me) - Sao - a BABY!!!! How exciting.

Bimini, you can get a new flange without getting a new sink. Unless I'm missing something. What kind of sink is it? Porcelain enameled steel? Plastic? When they took out my old sink to rip out counters we had to knock the old thing out but it didn't hurt the sink. I wanted to reuse the sink but couldn't because it didn't sit on the counter.
Thanks for the vote of cool although to my son and his fellow 9 year olds cool stands for Constipated Overweight Out of style Loser.
Behan, what great observations of the faces at the funeral. Ah, humanity. I'm sorry you had a sad day. I hope you are well.
