Update: Missed Conference Due to Hangover
Update: Missed Conference Due to Hangover
Many of you showed concerned and offered support and advice in my last thread about my missing a day at a school conference. I'm happy to report that I still have my job but will have a letter of reprimand in my file for two years. They were very supportive of me. I will be starting IOP August 10 when my husband is home (military). I'm sober. Today is day 6. Thanks again to everyone who offered words of encouragement and support.
That defintily could have been worse Amanda, compared to what you feared in your thread the other day!!
Time now to see that as a shot across the bow, a warning light, to now finally push on from and write a new chapter to your life, one not filled with fear based on the consequences of alcohol.
Great job on Day 6!!

This sounds awful, but inside a voice said it was ok to celebrate with some wine. I'm craving intensely right now. I'm on my Antabuse so that's not happening and tomorrow I'm going to a meeting. I'll stay close to here as well.
Amanda, Good to hear how things turned out.
How 'bout joining the Class of July 2015. I think the monthly classes are one of the most helpful features SR offers. Speaking from my own experience, joining my classes was instrumental in my recovery -- and continued growth as a sober person. (I'm a little biased but I think my class is the best!)

You must be relieved. I kinda thought that was going to be the end result. I also understand the alcoholic in us saying "whew, dodged a bullet, time to unwind with a glass of my favorite (whatever you drink). That of course, cannot be an option correct? Congratulations on your progress Amandaw.
Oh I am so relieved! I'm also very ready to do this! I will join the class a little later once the kids are tucked in. It's bath time. I bathe both kids together. AKA total chaos
Day 6 is just one more milestone, you can hit a milestone every day if you, and only you, choose to.
So happy to hear your job is safe and that anxious time in your life is over for now.
wishing you a SR with the help of SR!
