New to sobriety...

Hi everybody,

I'm Andy, I live in Margate in the UK.

I've been lurking here for a couple of weeks, getting inspiration from your posts. This is a good place!

I'm on Day 18, and doing well. Been drinking for 15 years before finally admitting that I've got a problem. It's ruined my life in so many ways; but not anymore!

Anyway, just thought I should say hi! Having this forum at my fingertips when things get shaky has been a massive help to me so far

Hope you're all doing well, whether you're on Day 1, or 1000.

Congrats on day 18, Carver! So glad you joined us here. I highly suggest joining and actively participating in the Class of July 2015 thread found on this same forum. It's a great way to learn from and help others who are in early recovery.

Thanks everyone!

I'm feeling really positive this time. It feels like I've finally woken up! I have to fight the urge to drink often, but I seem to be better at it; I take a lot of strength from all of your stories, so thank you

Just gotta quit smoking now haha

Welcome Carver 18 days is brilliant! well done. I'm on this site most days, even if it's only for 20 minutes, it really helps me, like an anchor to my sober efforts and to make some connections to people with the same aims.
Good luck x

Welcome Carver. I let alcohol destroy everything that was important to me.

SR has been a huge part of my 90day sobriety. I'm sure you will find it helpful as well.

Like Casey said, join up with July. You'll find the group here in newcomers. Everyone in that group made the choice to take their lives back in the month of July.

I'm part of April. We are like family. Over the past 3 months we've all had many ups and several downs. We've been there for each other through it all. These fine folks are the ones that I can tell anything to, and they'll understand. We're not all that different. In fact, it's surprising just how similar we are!

AWESOME JOB for 18days. Good for you!!!
