First post and a question
welcome to the forum runningaway...
The very first response I think, is what you must do.
You want to be brutally honest here. I suggest you make an appointment with a doctor and be brutally honest with the doctor.
If not you pcp, try to find one that deals with alcohol issues. Do you have a plan at work that you can call and get help privately?
Employee assistance program?
Thousands here can give an almost same account of what you are going through. Doing this on your own may only prolong your plight. Getting professional help is certainly a good option. Many have tried different approaches when they first try to quit and eventually seek out a professional. Even if it's just a pcp to advise you. But don't b.s. the doctor. When we have a pain in our shoulder we embellish and come up with all kinds of symptoms when we see the doc. Yet, when we discuss alcohol we tend to hold back the real truth. Go see a doctor, and be honest about it.
