Good morning everyone. Amazing what a good night's sleep will do for me.

Saoutchik, I hope you are feeling better and had an uneventful ride into work. Maybe you can get off work early and rest.

Back to work today. It's amazing to look forward to work instead of dreading monday. No hangover and a three day work week again. All good things.

Does your to do list have an ending Brain? Being a homeowner, that answer would be "no". But it does get smaller at times.

I was thinking yesterday that I have to learn to be still. To just " be" sometimes. To meditate. So difficult. Being busy with a bunch of stuff helped me so much when I first got sober but it's becoming less effective the longer I'm in so time to change up and add to the tool box.

I should take my sister in law up on yoga. Find a sitter for the kids. And bring my mother along.

See you all later

You need to add a warning label to that Brain. "Don't try this at home kids. These folks are trained professionals". I don't remember when I've had that much energy.

Good morning y'all!

Ugh Sao....hope you're feeling better! You're brave to risk public transit in that condition!

Next door neighbor brought over half a peach pie last night. Breakfast?? ....don't mind if I do!

Enjoy your three day work week Ruby! So nice when you have a long weekend to look forward to!

Bimini....where are you?!?! Hope a raptor didn't carry you away!

Morning Enders!!
I have today off as my random day off of the week of our summer of four day weeks. Wish I could have spent it at the island, but had to get back to the city. The flight home was still a little panicky, especially when our plane had to move up to let a faster float plane fly by.

Came home to a ridiculous heat wave. I do not know the final temperature, but it was stifling. It is much cooler this morning.

Run with the dog this morning, then the dentist, then I do not know what.

Happy Monday!!!

I'm a 55 year old white guy currently experiencing a dodgy colon so I won't be doing that dance right away ( I think I may have seen 5hat last clip before somewhere) However much the dancers got paid it wasn't enough

If Ruby says I can go home that's good enough for the likes of me. I feel like a chamois leather that has been wrung out too many times.

I'm sure Biminiblue is fine

Happy Monday, everyone. I was busy this weekend enjoying the outdoors, went to a cool sculpture garden up in the mountains with some crazy art, next time I'll bring my camera. Gorgeous days in these parts, enjoyed this splendid view from my terrace yesterday with fresh fruit and coffee! Back to work today, have a great week all.

enjoy the week.

edit: I heard on the radio when I was in Maine that a beach was closed due to high levels of fecal coliform in the water. Swim with your mouth closed...

Sometimes Brain there's comfort in knowing the neighbor is just 80 feet away. Depends on the neighbor I suppose. There's about ten feet between my house and my immediate neighbors. This one is quiet.

Heard Elvis belting out Pump it Up as I pulled into parking lot at work. Reminded of you all.

Sao, go home. Pseudo Dr. Ruby says it's for the best.

Ah, Elvis' 'Pump It Up'. My favorite Ode to Self Abuse.

- 'Pump It Up' Lyrics -

SoberP ~ you mentioned something that triggered a memory in my sotted Brain. Animals in Da House.

False Alarms are a big damn deal in the Security Biz. Animals at Home are one leading cause. Some Companies have developed Sensors to 'scan' a Room above 4' or so in order to avoid Dog and Cat false triggers. Summer Fans or Furnaces can move Drapes. Or, those Hippie Bead Curtains leading to various Rooms.-)

My Sister had this problem big time. Various Municipalities started to charge for rolling Police or EMTs when false Alarm System triggers were the root cause.

A Pal got me one of these Signs below for the Ranchette, here. It's in my Shop. I never want to give Perps advance notice of Weapons on site. 'Life's different here', as the TV Ad goes. Mountain Lions. A crazed, p/t Neighbor with 5 DUIs. The Wild West, but not like in the Movies. So, we simply roll - very safely - with the different demands here, vs. Suburban Life.

Gotta love Technology. Below, EJ has Song Lyrics on a Tablet on his Piano. Subtle. When I get a wonky Pinky Finger straightened out Surgically, I plan to get another Bass. EJ's Bassist is playing a Model identical to what I had. Heavy as all get out, but that makes for great Note sustain...

- Trespassing Sign Search Results -

- 'Ballad Of A Well Known Gun' - Elton John ~ Live At MSG -

Sao ,
the cravings died about 3 years ago for me (long may they stay there).. after the first year .. you take the booze off the table as an option and you keep pushing it out the door and down the road
When i last accidentally had some alcohol it made me violently sick .. I do feel protected and am maybe truly allergic to it now , even if it's psychosomatic or a pavlovian response, i'm not sure .. i won't be testing it .

These days i find cold's and flu act as a reminder as to how i used to feel every morning … Also the stomach thing you have acts as a reminder of a type ! i hope you feel ok soon .

thanks for the well wishes every one , it's a slow tail off ..

Took Rubys advice, i'm home now

Actually I thought when I was writing about the flu/no cravings that it propably no longer applied to you in quite the same way Mecx. I'm glad they go away eventually. I don't get them every night anymore but they lurk around sometimes

My stomach still bloody hurts - it must have been something I ate but I can't for the life of me think what

Good for you, Saoutchik. Glad you are resting at home. Feel better soon

MesaMan, the system I'm using detects animals over 40 lbs. That's what they tell me, anyway. They claim the beagles won't get picked up by the motion detector. I'll believe when I see it. I'm skeptical. Lol.

So, what, this System will detect your Husband?-)

'MesaMan, the system I'm using detects animals over 40 lbs.'

Perps in Jail also state they just 'move along' to the next House when they see an Alarm System Sign. Worth it right there...

Lmao You nut job.

Yeah, and you know I think this is yet another case of Jennie overthinking and analyzing the hell out of something. Trying to get it perfect. My obsessiveness is showing now.

I really am glad the sign is out there though. And that we have the dogs. Really glad.

I looked up gun classes online. Hmm. Not sure I'm "there" yet. Not onboard with that just yet.

I know some people who don't actually have an alarm system installed but put the sign on their lawn anyway. It works.

I didn't hear anyone mention how hot it is today. It's HOT. I was attacking the growth on the side of the house and these robins were carrying on at me. I finally saw they were still feeding a young one who was up in the tree next to me. Now where did I put my telephoto lens? That's why I came inside, to get camera for pic of them feeding junior. But without the big lens it'll just look like a picture of a tree.

Sober-p you can also do that trick from 'home alone' where the kid attaches big cutouts of people to the train set and they go around the room. Maybe?

Brain, ha! Believe it or not, it's one of those asinine stunts my husband is likely to pull. Too funny He'd actually try and do something just similar. I told him he missed his calling. He has the mind of an inventor. Pretty wacky sometimes, though.

Saoutchik, I'm glad you're home. Is there something making you anxious? I sometimes get extreme abdominal pain if I'm having anxiety. Tying my stomach up in knots. Maybe lay flat with deep breathing exercises?

Brain, it's not so hot here today. Pleasant would be a good adjective. Your comment on the paper cut out reminds me of the Sherlock Holmes story when he has a bust of himself in the window behind a window shade to lure an assassin into unwisely firing upon him.

SoberP, maybe put a store manikin in the window. If nothing else they'll think you're crazy for putting a creepy manikin in your house and leave you alone. There's a house a couple of blocks from my parents that has two or three manikins in the front window. The occupants change the costumes seasonally
