I'm almost afraid to ask, but how does one go about calculating stay times?

PK...I thought weekends were made for sleeping!

And I've always like Mr Rogers. He was so kind and gentle....kinda calming really.

Hi hippo!

MR Rodgers - proto Ned Flanges

LBrain, I reckon you should get a full time job soon, so you can take a rest (your probably in breach of OSHA guidelines for gardening)

PurpleKnight - I listened to the Cricket on the radio, wish I hadn't

2 wheels, it is a 2.8L V6 from a 1966 Lancia Flaminia which one day will look great (what year that might be I don't know)

I liked mr. Rogers. Won't you be my neighbor? He always calmed my kids down after sesame Street.
Charlie, I'm feeling the same way. Just don't feel like doing anything but lie around. But that might not be a bad thing, sometimes we just need to rest.
my ceiling fans are all going. They work great. Nothing beats air conditioning though.

Dang it's wretched hot. Only thing to do is go get the stuff for homemade ice cream.. May even try to sit outside to eat some....unless the sound of my electricity meter spinning from all the air conditioning takes away the pleasure. Not gonna think about the next bill. Gotta have my a/c.

SoberP ~

Back in Ye Olde Engineering Daze, we had this Geeky Joke. When diagramming out some Project on the proverbial White Board, we'd draw a rectangle to represent some impossible Step and label it 'And Here A Miracle Occurs'. Like, fitting a 1,000 Watt Power Supply into the physical Real Estate of a 'Rubik's Cube'. Physical Laws prevent achieving this.

Well, an aspect of your Home Security Plans appear to have this similar assumption -> And Here A Miracle Occurs. That Bad Guys are driven away from your Home by Alarm Noise, or that the Good Guys show up to halt the situation.

In what was not a 'one-off' situation, a Pal's Business was broken into. It took 4 hours for anyone official to show up. Part of this delay was at the 'Market Leader' Alarm Company which I won't specify here.

What was stolen, by Perps reportedly looking for Power Tools to Fence, were John Denver Artifacts this fellow was prepping for display at the Colorado Music Museum that just opened. John's Widow and Estate were able to offer some replacement items, but not all.

To the degree that you can, make sure what you think will happen likely will happen. There's an old Saying: 'When seconds matter, the Police are only minutes away'.

In other News, here's one of many Ships that crossed from Massachusetts - or thereabouts - to Scotland a few Decades ago.

Ned Flanders (not flanges)

That sailing ship looks neat, wouldn't want to cross the Atlantic in it though

Here's me commenting on how hard LBrain is working - i'm beat myself. Time to go home

Mesa, I told my husband yesterday ... imagine, the burglars get inside, and go tidily and neatly rummaging through our stuff to find a few items, and nicely make their way out the door.

And then ... imagine what is likely to happen ... we come home to ripped upholstery, broken glass, overturned furniture, smashed and crashed every single thing we own, dogs shot dead, etc. I pretty much imagined the worst I could think of

I guess there's really nothing to prevent the worse case scenario from happening, save a few guns being pointed in their faces. And even then, we might end up shot dead, ourselves.

We're finally getting some rain to cool down these 100F temp days. I'm sitting here eating a bowl of peaches, nectarines, and plums drizzled with honey. So good.

Congrats on day 5! Take each day as it comes. We will be here during the week as well. Speak up. Many have this thread go until the new one starts. Why? It feels good to have people that want nothing more than for me and you to be sober and more so live soberly.

Glad you joined in!
