MLD I'm jealous! I love a good storm and I've never been able to watch one roll in the way you described. I've seen them roll in, but never with a view like that!

I agree 2wheels. It's been a wet spring. I work in the construction industry and the rains have delayed almost all of the projects I'm involved with in the state. The heat was bound to show up sooner than later! But why did it have to show up on my vehicle maintenance day! Oh well box fan will be on high and ice water as well

Hey weave

Someday I'm coming to Maine. It's on my bucket list. Thoughts for food... I have chicken marinating in a garlic basil pesto mix and I picked up two nets of mussels to go with it.

Probably not the best combo but the wife and kids are gone and those are two things I love!

Checking in. MLD , that must have been something to see. I love a good storm too.

Sao that canal looks so peaceful in the morning. Still as glass. What a great place to go for a run. Or walk.

Trying to wake up here. Nice breeze and pleasant but it's going to get hot later. I've got a bunch of running around later.

trivia time... what were the first recorded words spoken by T Edison?

We've come a long way from that day. When I went in to ask the wife a question about our shopping list - I thought she was asleep - she is looking at facebook on her phone instead of sleeping. Pretending to be a teenager I suppose... Made me wonder who started all this nonsense.

Charlie that sounds good to eat.

Brain, you seem to have long lists of things to do. Have some fun too.

Non, good to see the bacon frying up there. Save some for us

MLD, storms rolled through here, too with some hellacious thunder that knocked us out of bed, but not much rain came out of it. Had 2" in the rain gauge when we arrived, just since last Sunday. We are between hinckley and Duluth.

So nice to get up Saturday morning and drink coffee, check in with the weekenders, and plan a full but relaxing day. Agate hunting, kayak, float in the water reading a mystery are what's on my agenda.

Have a great sober day, everyone.

OK... if they have good lobsters at the grocery store I will do lobster mac and cheese. If not then a white cheddar mac and cheese. Either way I am loving it!

They steam the lobsters for ya right there and you take em home to take the meat out. Simple enough.

I used to love dipping for agates in Lake Superior in the yoop, then taking the sea kayaks out on the lake. That lake is so crystal clear and COLD. You wouldn't so much get used to it as get numb. Haha. Summers in the nort.

2nd cup of coffee down, ready to get things done!

I love agate hunting. Have picked up some pretty nice ones over the years. People tell me I have a knack for it.
We got about a half inch of rain from that storm - it went through so fast. Today just hot and muggy. Not complaining. You don't have to shovel it. Beautiful morning so far. Birds are going nuts and everything is washed clean. I'll be heading to my Saturday morning women's AA meeting soon, then a fun birthday party for a friend's four year old daughter. They are having a "trash the dress" party - the whole point is for the kids to make as big a mess as possible with colored non-toxic goop and other stuff. Should be entertaining.

And I'm super jealous of lobster at the grocery store. None of that here in the middle of the country.

Ken was so right about the evening may not be comfortable but the next morning with a sober mind will be so much better On second cup of coffee, Pup is walked, and I've checked in here. Not entirely sure about the plans for today but I'm thinking I should shower and throw myself out the door during the day time and I will be home tonight...sort of like a reverse vampire
