Thank you. I am on day 4 today. 4 days is the longest I've gone in a while. Yesterday was kinda' hard. I feeling good so far, today. Night time is usually a different story.

I have gotten rid of all the alcohol in my house. I am serious about this. I am truly thankful to you all. Even just the welcome message. I know I am not alone in this and it makes it so much less scary.

I too, drank vodka right out of the bottle... Chasing it down with nothing but ice water. Nothing mattered except getting that buzz. You guys/gals are right. Alcohol is not my friend and I don't love it, I need it.

This forum has already been a tremendous help for me.

Congrats on day 4! That's a huge step forward. Hope you'll check in often. I highly suggest joining the Class of July 2015 thread on this same forum. It's a great way to learn from and help others who are also in early recovery.

And by the way you're responding exactly right. This forum doesn't do threaded replies to each individual post in a thread, instead it just puts all replies in order from first posted to latest posted, no matter who you were actually replying to.
