Thank you for sharing. I have gone to about three AA meeting and that was many months ago and my visits were spaced apart. I wasn't serious at all then about becoming sober and I did not want to say "My name is Angie and I'm an alcoholic." I have been having intense cravings lately and I was thinking about going back. Your thread convinced me to give it a real shot and I'm going on Monday. Thank you.
What a great post, Don. So glad you stuck around the meeting and got something out of it.
I'm at day 66 right now and have attended meetings off and on over the last 13 years. It's only in the last couple of weeks of this round of sobriety that I've started going again regularly and I'm so glad I am. It's the one hour a day I am assured to have some peace and serenity in my life.
Keep us updated on how it's working for you and thanks again for the inspirational post. Glad to see it's nudged a couple of other people into saying they're going to give AA a try.

Awesome!!
I resisted AA for a lot of years...
Thought AA 'wasn't for me'.
Until it was.
I don't go there all the time, but every time I do, I'm glad I did.
I wouldn't be sober today without it.
Way to go!!
