First message and would appreciate some support.
I know what you are going through. I have gone through some truly horrible detoxes myself. Alcohol abuse seems to punish us in every which way yet we still drink. I traded away everything for really just 2 hours of feeling content a day. After that initial buzz, I kept chasing it to the point I was in blackout mode and doing things I never would have sober.
It took me so long to finally get it. I am an alcoholic and alcoholics can't drink without serious repercussions.

Welcome, Rose! I'm glad you have joined us. I think it's a good sign that you are asking for help and seeking community.
Daily recommitment to sobriety and cultivating other areas so they can blossom again seems to help a lot of people, as well as practising a sober lifestyle with other people doing the same.
Best wishes to you!

Welcome!
My advice for now is just stuck here and read as many posts as you can, seeking the similarities.
This is a great place to begin. If you're willing, look up AA's Big Book online or get a copy from a local meeting... It is a really great source of insight and perspective.
Many of us are now free from the misery of alcohol, and you can be too!
We're here to help.

Hi RedRose, as you can see, you will find an endless amount of support here. You are very young, and nipping this in the bud will provide you a lifetime of fulfillment. Sorry to hear you injured yourself, I can relate to that as well. But since I got hurt, I haven't drank and you know what? I haven't got hurt again. Amazing right? Best of luck you.
