tapered off

So the last few days I cut down to drink a beer or two a day to help with the detox. I was drinking very heavily an was afraid of withdrawals an couldn't go to detox. Its been three days an today was not that bad. Yesterday an the day before I had horrible anxiety an nausea but no shakes. Tomorrow is going to be my first absolutely sober day. The withdrawals shouldn't be that bad right?

Welcome!

We can't predict your symptoms, and it's a good idea to consult a doctor about alcohol withdrawal.

Let us know how it goes, ok? And know we're here for you.
And, of course, it is always best to see a physician as these withdrawals can be heavy. May I ask why you can't go to detox?

I have no one to watch my young kids. But tomorrow is going to be my day 1. I was drinking a half pint an up to two 16oz four packs daily starting at 8 am.. So for me two do a beer or two the last few days gives me hope that the withdrawals shouldn't be to bad hopefully. But I will definitely go seek help if need be.

Quitting alcohol can be a slippery slope and will effect different people in different ways. Seeing as there are children involved I would get in contact with your physician before doing anything and seeing what he or she thinks.

Good luck.

Be very very aware of withdrawal symptoms. I "quit" many times with no noticeable or minor symptoms. But the last time had to go to the ER. Have a plan if it becomes necessary.

So far so good this is day 3 with no alcohol. Glad I tapered down first tho. I still have a little anxiety but no to bad... Also I was experiencing this strange skin crawling sensation. Think it was a detox sensation but wasn't to bad. Had a little sweating but no shaking but slightnausea which has passed.. Hopefully im over the worst but will keep an eye on it.. I think by day 5 i should be out of detox harm..

Medical guidance is the way to go.............
It took me two years to taper from benzos, somewhat different, and I'd been on them for over 3 decades.
