hello
hey there my name is brad i haven't drunk since Monday and its Friday 12:07am, I've been half writing on a diary half signing up to this and wondering how to talk to someone, i go for advance search thinking ill see if i can just look for someone withing my country because a great deal of us Australians were introduced to it by our parents at a young age and binge drinking is usually accepted at 14 where i grew up, some parents didn't mind some did, but that wasn't an option so instead i went search by music, so i found some awesome metal-head but it said i cant talk alone with some metal head i have to talk to the whole internet 25 times, so here i go, my name is brad and im an alcoholic. i am at rock bottom for the third time this year, funny enough thats the same time i have been arrested for **** i have done while drunk this year, still going through the court process for all of that but funny enough only one of them times was rock bottom and that was because i was trying to kill myself and someone that cared tried to stop me,
Welcome to SR, whendoesitend92. Lots of great support and wisdom to be found here, including a ton of Australians as well.
I highly suggest joining and actively participating in the Class of July 2015 thread found on this same forum. It's a great way to learn from and help others who are in early sobriety.
Wishing you the best today! Check in often.

I had to make a lot of changes to my life to stay sober but I don't regret any of them - I really like rediscovering the real me - not the me messed up on booze and whatever else
what kind of metal are you into?

Welcome! Your description of Australia is exactly the description I could apply to my hometown in the US.... And the US in general.
As it happens, I've also spent plenty of time blackout drunk in Australia. And New Zealand. And all over Asia and Europe and been arrested aplenty as well....
Here's what I can tell you; getting sober made life a lot better.
I spent many years giving myself plenty of evidence that alcohol wasn't working as a part of my life. In just a year and a half I have found enough evidence that life is wonderful without it, that I can tell you with confidence if you'll embrace sobriety you will be deeply grateful you did.
Freedom, happiness, abundance, joy.... These can all be yours!!
Stick around.
