A plan

Good morning (in Califonia)
I'm reading lots of posts this morning about life after alcohol and today many seem to reflect my own negative moods of late.
I also routinely see the question asking "do you have a plan?).
My plan these first three weeks (21 days today!) has simply been to not consume alcohol. It has been the most important part of the plan I would wager but now feels like the tip of the iceberg.
Aside from the enormous gift of you folks I am not in any sort of recovery group and I'm unfamiliar with most of the terminology.
Can any of you share your plans with me? I would like to implement a long term strategy for moving forward.
Thanks to all of you for being here!

Hi DonTolan47, Big congratulations on 21 days! :scoregood

I was just focused on not drinking in the beginning, too. But, we grow a little bit and then we need more.

My Big Plan is still kind of sparse; I visit this site a lot (and post), I am in counselling, I started prior to stopping alcohol, but now I feel like I can actually work on the past crap that I was trying to bury with empty booze bottles. And I read books on recovery, memoirs and such.

I am trying to find some kind of face to face meetings. I haven't had success with that yet but I will persist.

Happy 21 Days Sober To You!!!!!!

Thank you Anna,
I went to the link and read the first few posts. I'll work through it in the next few days.
I appreciate it.

For me something simple as daily checking in on SR was the beginnings of my plan.

When the misery of alcohol faded in my mind, as I forgot why I had quit drinking, when my mind started to sell me why drinking would be a good idea again, on my own in isolation was not a great place to be, so I knew having a daily SR check in would keep me focused on the task at hand!!

We need support I learned in the bad times as well as the really good times, my plan built from there!! :)
