I'm glad you are seeing your dr so quickly, and hopefully you'll be ready to stop drinking.

I hope your doctor can help you detox safely. Do you have a plan for your recovery after you're done with the physical withdrawal? Some people use AA or other programs, some (like me) see a counselor, others use just this site.

Whatever keeps you sober, give it your all.

Thanks for all encouragement.
As for plan, don't really have one except that to get this far has taken guts, to confront it and go see doc, so I wont be throwing the chance away, not to mention I expect the meds will be expensive, so I wont waste.

Im leaving soon to go, n if honest, Im quite seriously nervous!

OK peeps
Im back, survived, was scary to fess up but got it over with.

Gave me Naltrexone for cravings, daily, and diazepam (valium) to settle in evenings.

I didn't drink last night, so COULD go into it tonight as my 2nd day.

Or do I drink the remaining beer I have and then do it?

I know its about stopping, but just thinking if its gone its gone. I wont buy more.

Im not a fan of the pour down sink thing, just wastage..

opinions???

Waste it. Drinking it would only end up turning your efforts into a waste. Drinking and taking valium is also a really bad idea in my experience.

Good Luck

I haven't taken anything yet, but I'm feeling pretty weird, so will be needing one or other pretty soon.

Im thinking the valium n just relax by the fire.

benzoes and booze is bad news. Make a bold statement and dump the beer.

Dump the beer. There is never a perfect day to stop other than today.

If I were to put myself in your shoes right now and I was thinking about drinking the beer, I would want more beer tomorrow. Long story short dump it . There is absolutely no reason to drink it.

Now that you have the medication to help calm you down now is the time to stop the alcohol completely. Isn't that why you went to the doctor today? To stop alcohol consumption?

Ronker, dumping the beer ,seems to be the right thing to do from our past experience. Especially, first few days are very important. By pouring the beer down the sink, you will waste few dollars worth of poison, which does not do any thing good . By drinking it, you will poison your body and mind, which are worth billions of dollars..

All the best.
