Well, there are many plans and they all begin and end with you. My plan was - I am going to bed sober tonight, no matter what else happens today .

I did that a lot of days in a row.

Your hand, your mouth. Sounds so simple because it is.

The rest of it? Why you started, what you get out of it, how you cope with life in general can be sorted out in many different ways.

I believe in you. You can do it!

I'm sorry you drank, and sorry that nothing anyone said here could stop you.
Did you have a sponsor in AA fast?

Your counter may have been re-set today, but definitely don't believe that 10 months was "wasted". That's a lot of sober time and hopefully you learned a lot about yourself.

Find a plan that works for YOU, that's the key, there are many options out there, soo many things that we can do to make Sobriety happen, be proactive, change up routines, build a life to be proud of, a new lifestyle!!

You can do this!!

It's no big deal.......you had 10 months you'll do it again.....aren't you going back to the doctors on Friday......this is not entirely your fault .......you went to the doctors....and they dismissed you........you tried to get help......find new doctors and a new mental health team......make that part of your new recovery plan.

Fast, I hope the sobriety date (8/7/2015) in your post is a type and you mean 7/7/2015. I went to AA in November 2014 but didn't take any other action. I drank in April 2015 and went back to AA May 2015. Now I go to meetings, have a sponsor, work the steps, read recovery material, take direction, etc., etc. Everything is different now. Find your plan and WORK IT. I promise you will get better faster than you think.

I think FF meant he's counting from the 8th cos he was drinking on the 7th.

It's the 8th in the UK now.

Yes and the month and day are reversed in the UK. He didn't mean 8/7, but July 8

I stayed sober since this slip and I'm nearly 13 months sober, can't believe I made 1 year, found out I'm autistic and multiple personality disorder too, the ocd has calmed down, but still there, still very anxious, .....and today's grumble is people really **** me off still, like when I order stuff off eBay and it's wrong or **** quality, or when planned things don't go to plan, I know it's my autism cause to me it's really real and bad like someone's died, but I use to drink on all that, I need more in place to help me deal with meltdown, and I struggle so so so much socially

It's really good to hear from you and that your sobriety is rocking! Good job on dealing with the mental health issues too. And, try to be kind to yourself. You're doing great!

I have always believed that everyone needs to find a recovery program that is best for THEM and that as long as it works for YOU then it is the right program.

Great job with 13 months, that is amazing Keep moving forward and working on your recovery and hopefully with the right doctors you will be able to work on everything else too.
