day 12
I'm on day twelve and I'm feeling much better. Its like the fog is lifting. I went to the grocery store and didn't even think about beer. I have been drinking alottt of coffee..seems like the act of drinking is a habit and need something to sip or a cup to refill. Idk if that is good or bad but it helps. I got thru my dads death anniversary Friday and then independence day without a drink. But mainly BC I'm hiding out scared that I won't be strong enough to resist having just one. My birthday is Tuesday and it will be my first sober birthday since is was 16. I will be 29, idk how to celebrate my bday with out drinking but I am determined to overcome this addiction. This is my first step in taking control of my life.
Congrats on 12 days Ladybug, that's fantastic!
Good job on getting through the 4th and your Dad's anniversary sober, that shows how badly you want this.
EARLY HAPPY BIRTHDAY wishes flying your way.!
Maybe take in a movie, or have a picnic, or a bit of retail therapy to treat yourself on your bday? Keep busy and surround yourself with people who support your sobriety.
Best of luck to you.

Hi Ladybug, well done on 12 days, particularly with a couple opportunities to slip. I would approach your birthday the same way, its an important day to be sure, but nothing to drink over. Did you feel anything other than pride when you did not drink over the 4th or your fathers passing anniversary?
