How long is "Early Recovery"
I drank for 35 years, so my 4 years and 10 months could be considered "early" recovery.
But I don't think it is strictly a measure of time. How do you feel? I thought I felt "recovered" after a year. But by the time I passed year two I realized that I was just unaware at a year sober how much more there was to recovery.

I'm with carl, too. I've been sober over a year and a half, and that feels early to me.
I know a guy with over 20 years - he seems like he's probably past 'early'.
I imagine there will come a day when my sobriety feels rock solid and I'm looking back over years of sober life with a feeling of wonder and gratitude and will be able to say, deep in my heart and soul without question, that I am a SOBER person for the rest of my life - without fear or doubt ever welling up. Maybe then I'm not in early recovery....
Or maybe, every single day of sobriety is in some ways early recovery. Because every single day in sobriety could very easily be our last - the choice is ours, regardless how many years we've got a chip for.
