You can do it...
Sit quietly.... search deep in your heart.... maybe NOT so deep.... but ask, quietly, to See.
There's a little boy, a little girl in You.
He laughs and he wonders....
She dances and sings....
He dreams and giggles...
She plays and plays and plays....
They never needed to drown out the world.
Somewhere along the way they got hurt.
Ask them about that.
Listen to them.
Put an arm around them.
Invite them back....
Tell them you're there for them...
Tell them you're ready...
Ask her about laughing and wondering.
Ask him to help you dance and sing.
Invite her to dream and giggle.
Tell him you want to play and play and play.
Assure them that even though it hurt, it doesn't always have to.
This is a big piece of sobriety.... this simple return.... this huge step.... this healing.
You can do it.
