Well kayaking shelved for today, my "American mom" and I are going out for dinner. She is a non-drinker, so there is no issue there. Really looking forward to catching up with her, as it has been a while. She is not a relative, but is my "mom" here, and my son calls her "grandma" and loves her to pieces.

I am in.

So today is Thursday, my favourite day

I look forward to the weekends: lie-ins, fry-ups for brekkie and a trip out the countryside.

“The pleasure isn't in doing the thing, the pleasure is in planning it.”
― John Green, Paper Towns

“Well," said Pooh, "what I like best," and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.”
― A.A. Milne.

I never looked forward to just having a few days off when I was still looking for answers at the bottom of a vodka bottle. It's funny how simple things give me pleasure these days.

On a different note, Thursday has also become pizza night.

I am getting worried that I'm becoming "Sheldon-like". As it turns out, I also have a "pizza night" and a "laundry night".

Anyway, happy fourth of July to all of you x

Phew, too many posts to catch up on. Finished work late today - boo, but I've got Friday and Monday off - hooray. Boss grumbled about late notice but better for everyone if I have time off when it's quiet (told a few coworkers i'm joining IS)

Ken your phrasing "kill 2 birds with one stone and i'm the 2nd bird" That's probably about right but I am glad you're still seeing him. My family are the same but to be fair so was I when younger

I was going to post some Neil Young on Canada Day but the moment didn't come up right

Like the charm bracelet idea Ruby - there were lots of them on sale during the Olympics

yupp Mr B ,
26" x 4" tyres LoL . It's a monster for driving through this side of the Irish sea ..

I'm thinking of taking the ferry from here to the Isle of man and then on to the island of Ireland as a little trip sometime , might be nice .. then maybe flying back to blackpool international (LoL) on the return leg .

Hmm sun is shinning , i might go for a cycle ,

Wow Ken, awesome photos. Although not sold yet on poutine. I think I'd have to try it but not for $6. I absolutely love the beach pic.

Work has had plenty of fireworks for the 4th but I've just sat and watched the show.

Tetra I really like the Winnie the Pooh quote about honey. That's so true. Have a great Thursday pizza evening.

LA have fun with your American mom. I think it's lovely to have someone like that in your life.

Behan that's exciting about the scan. Congratulations

Great pics, Ken and LA

Stressful day for me. Woke up feeling like death warmed over. Not exactly sure why. It's puzzling. Probably my lovely sober PMS'ing in action. I tell you, if there it is one downside to sobriety it is sober menstrual experiences. Not kidding.

I am ready for a getaway or vacation. Told my husband I'd like to visit the coast soon. Just a few days at least. Feeling so stressed and worn down lately. Not feeling as motivated to fight for the changes I'm making. I guess there are down days. It just sucks sometimes.

Loving the kitty pics Learningagain...they are awesome!

Poutine is just one of those things. There are some great variations. A chain bar I used to frequent had Big Fat Jerome Fries. Fries with roast beef gravy and melted cheese. The Checkers/Rallys chain has three variations that are all good, including Baconzilla fries.

So I spoke with my nephew. He was prepared to stay with me a day and a half which I would have loved but he was told that they will now be bringing another guy who is this baby's they are visiting a god father. He was not happy.

There are heading north of me three and a half hours. So I told him that at least we can meet and they can take a break. Get something to eat. He has to pass me literally a half mile.

They cannot stay here cuz both he and I never met this dude and he was not comfortable with that. Plus I have only one other bedroom.

So I feel better. I want to see him and want him to get to know me for me.

I will keep you all posted.

I think I am getting sick. Yuk. The throat thing subsided but I have terrible body aches. Soz... I think laying in bed early will be in order.

An invisible man marries an invisible woman... The kids were nothing to look at either.
