Uncle Kenny, bravo! Understand the vent. I want some of your salsa because it sounds absolutely delicious. Please post beach pics.

I can't find bus charms with moving wheels. Rats. I was thinking of charms because I may get a violin charm for my niece for her bday. A young lady who knows her mind. Wants to major in musical performance when she hits college.

Well I fell back asleep lol. I will think long and hard, I am completely over my ex, but I don't think I will ever forget about the pain of it. And by that I mean the physical pain, not emotional. In fact it is really not even about me, it is what he allowed to happen to my boy in his care.

And I am casual with Mr. Fireman, I am just a talker about stuff like that! Plus, as all my friends always tell me, I am not the relationship sort! I try to be sometimes, but I always get bored and I just like the idea of crazy cat lady too much!

Am going to take myself kayaking later - I have been wanting to go for weeks but no one ever wanted to join me - I figured well then, I can just go on my own then! There is a big enclosed waterway nearby, so I won't accidentally find myself on the other side of Lake Erie in Canada, at least that's the theory lol

4th. Have I mentioned I'm not a fan of holidays?

This time I have a good reason.

Fireworks and the obsessive use of them are legal in my city. I won't be getting any sleep on Thursday - they go till 2-3AM...and since the weekend follows, it will be bad on Friday, too. It is crazy where I live. Too many people with too much money and a fireworks stand even at the churches. Ugh.

I'm sensitive, yo. My least favorite holiday. I'll say that on Christmas, too.

Go, U.S.A. Go away, fireworks.

What? This is the rant thread, right?

Fireworks at church? That sounds a bit excessive.

Stephen King has a new book out "Drunken Fireworks". Heard a blurb for it on the radio. Radio also talked to the owner of a fireworks store " just over the border " which does booming business (pun intended) because everyone from Illinois heads to Indiana to buy. His rule number 3? Don't mix fireworks and alcohol.

Daughter called me at 9:50 from house phone. We aren't at camp. Daddy is sick and can't take us. GRRR!!!! IF daddy were an employee and not a supposed partner, he'd be fired by now.

Ruby - men are so annoying!!!!

I was a little confused, as finally here it is a lovely still and sunny day, and our tornado sirens went off! Apparently it was a malfunction, go figure.

Shock N Awe Fireworks - Home

Almost all of them are at churches. They even have pretty teenaged girls on the streets with big signs, directing people to the churches.

Here's what it says:

Shock N' Awe Fireworks is a non-profit fireworks organization that raises funds for special non-profit causes. Youth, missions trips, camp sponsorship, orphanages, child trafficking, children’s sports leagues are a few examples what our fund raising go to.

?Don't know why child trafficking needs funding, but what do I know?

ah yes, nothing like pretty teenaged girls with big signs,
18 and 19 yo teens anyway...

I still have a bag of fireworks I purchased oh, say ten years ago?

1.5" mortars that go high, look pretty and go boom. Now that I'm sober, I have no desire to set off fireworks. I thought nothing of dropping a few hundy on big fireworks last time I was in Montana for the 4th. Between a couple of us we sent up close to a grand in fireworks. Add that to the cost of drinking - cause if I wasn't drinking I would have thought spending a ridiculous amount of money on something silly like that was a waste.
It's good to be reminded of the hidden costs of drinking at times. Another reason to never go back to drinking.

The only fireworks I'm setting off this year:

Ken, self involved is OK because you aren't selfish. It's fine to share your feelings about stuff to vent, get feedback, air it out. It's what we're all here for.

I spend too much time being self involved. None of us is Mother Teresa. We're human.

Brain, I saw your post on Marcher's thread. Will you be relocating? Sounds like it may be in the offing.

Afternoon all,

How is everyone doing? We are nearly at the weekend.

Cool bike Mex - is that one of those beach bikes with the big wheels?

Uncle K - you are the most unselfish person I know!! Hopefully, you can build a relationship with your nephew and others in your family. You are obviously important to him if he is bringing the GF over.

I look forward to that SK book Ruby.

Well, the scan was just amazeballs. We saw junior B's spine, kidneys, bladder, brain, feet, hands, and heart. Everything is right were it is supposed to be, no problems detected. Such a relief, mixed with a gigantic slap in the face from reality!!! This has been such a roller coaster, from denial, to joy, to panic, some more denial, back to joy again, then some worry!!! But loving every minute of it.

Fireworks are illegal in Ireland. When younger, you could only buy them on the black market in the city, usually just low grade bangers and rockets. For some reason, as a population, we are not to be trusted with explosives....

Nearly home time for me.

B

Thank you B and Ruby. I don't feel selfish. I guess I just hurt a lot. I want to treat him good. He is one of th most kind people I know. This will actually be the first time we will spend time or speak to one another outside of my brother being around. Good chance for us to get to know one another.

Poutine??????
