Baja perspective

Well I can tell you for sure that going back into the life I once lived - but as a sober man - offers perspective.

While it's been good to see old friends, it's also been a huge eye-opener to what I used to do with my life. I won't be going on trips like this anymore.... I would far prefer to go on a trip with my family or a couple friends whose priorities are not boozing and partying.

More later, but I wanted to check in. Two days of sobriety in Baja while everyone around me became stumbling, stupid drunk has been a real spotlight of learning.

I hope you all had a good sober weekend thus far.

Boozing our lives away was such a waste.....

It sounds like you learned a valuable lesson during this vacation.

I'm glad you weren't tempted in Baja.

Pretty amazing the contrast of how boozing looks from the in- or outside, isn't it? Kind of embarrassing I lived my life that way for so long. :240:

I'm sorry.. but that sounds like my worst nightmare. That's what most people do when they are in Baja though....glad you are hanging in there. Being the only sober one can feel very isolating. Hopefully you got to have some fun and not just babysit

HI FreeOwl, I'm very interested in hearing you elaborate on your OP. Excellent job on remaining sober during what sounds like a great party (great being a purely subjective term).

Good realisation FO

First border crossing I've ever been neither drunk not hungover!! Turns out, it's a lot more relaxing and less anxious this way!

Thanks for posting, FreeOwl. I look forward to reading about your perspective, and so glad you didn't drink!

Back to the U.S. Tired but sober! It was a good experience all around. I'll share more this week when I log on from a keyboard. For now; thank you for being here, SR.

I had numerous compliments over the weekend and a few friends really taking note and expressing their admiration for my not drinking.... It wasn't uncomfortable at all.

More soon.
