Facing fears
 

Went to a meeting last night. There were 2 people from my work world there. Oh boy . . . didn't want to identify as a newcomer. Considered not doing it. Then I heard myself saying "I'm Girlie and I am an alcoholic." Then I heard one of them saying "I'm So and so and I am an alcoholic. We hugged after the meeting.

Today it has been 30 days since my last drink. If I never take that first drink I won't have to identify as a newcomer again.

God bless us all with sobriety.

I wish I had your bravery, Girlie928. What you did showed an immense amount of courage.
