Thanks, Soberpotamus. And, on that note, I am shelving plans of a bath and movie - I am absolutely exhausted today, so going to head up bed shortly and read a book
. Rain forecast the entire weekend, so planning to look up some online workouts as I am a fair weather hiker!

I'm in bed drinking camomile tea.
And thinking.
At a meeting this week I did something new.
I always used alcohol to cope with my social anxiety. There was a new man at this meeting. He looked alone and scared. Like I used to be. Without thinking, I walked over to him and said "Hi! My name is Tetra, nice to meet you" and I introduced my friend who was beside me. I was always too scared to do that before. When I mentioned it to my dad he smiled and said it's a very good thing to introduce yourself to people. He used to have a colleague - a very intelligent man who also suffered from shyness - who made a point at meetings to introduce himself to different people.
On the topic of doing scary things, I have decided on a new hobby. I'm going to get my full drivers licence - I can drive but I never took the final test. My dad, my brother and my therapist have been encouraging me to do this. My brother says " it will give you a new lease of life. You won't
know yourself!" So I have booked a driving lesson tomorrow. This is scary for me as my city is known as "roundabout city" and it scares the hell out of me! Look at me, I'm growing!
On a different topic, my dad told my mom that I kind of have a new boyfriend and I went to Dublin to meet him a few weeks ago. I thought they would be annoyed that I lied but they weren't at all. My dad said my mom was very excited for me and she wanted to ask me about it but my dad told her not to make a big issue out of it because I'm only putting my life back together.
I feel good about it all. It feels good not to be hiding things.

I got my hair cut as well today. I told the hairdresser to give me a short, funky look for summer - like Audrey Hepburn. I love Audrey, she was so elegant and graceful. The hairdresser said "yeah, you could get away with it". My best friend says I'm one of the few women in the world that can pull off really short hair and still look cute

I think maybe you are, Della Bo Bella.
Should have placed bets on if the painters would be using my space again today, even though they promised to be out before I returned home.
Sigh.
I will not let it get to me today, because today is Friday!!!!
And the work week is done!
If someone would just turn down the heat and start back up the rain, I would be golden!!!

This very animated Gal who lived next to me in the College Dorm - a real Fran Drescher Prototype - had this classic line: 'Natural... natural... what's so great about Natural? People die of Natural Causes all the time'!
So, with the Nature Vibe in this Thread just now, I look out the Window and see this Snake easing down the ~4'-high Wood Wall that holds back a Berm. He slithered off into Vegetation to snarf a few Bugs, no doubt. For reference, the Wood ends are 8" square. So, this Bad Boy is ~4' long.
Steaks on the Barbee in a bit. The Three Muskateers - some Gal Pals here in Da Hood - are headed next door tonight with a Bottle of Wine to console this one Gal whose Mom just passed away from some wicked Cancer. I'll amuse myself on line, and research Mitsubishi A/C Units.
Good stuff goin' on here, and perhaps I'll get around to my 'Quit Story' later this Weekend. Got to/want to put some thought into it...
My favorite, all-time Headstone: 'I Told You I Was Sick'.

Way to go Tetra! Have fun tomorrow driving. That is fantastic that you introduced yourself to that guy. I'll bet he was nervous. And brave on the short hair. I looked like a cotton swab when i had really short hair. I bet it's cute.
Della, my husband and son hate moths. You're not the only one.
