New here

Hi all
I am 38 and have been drinking more or less daily for 8 years. Usually a bottle of red wine or 6-8 cans of lager and on weekends sometimes both!!!! I am on day 3 and can honestly say that I do not have the desire to drink. Yes I do think about it now and again but find it quite easy to resist the alcohol when shopping. I don't think I drink for the effect I think it's more habit. I have never been to my doctors with my issue but just over the last couple of weeks I have noticed a mild twinge every now and again under my right rib cage and sometimes feel it in my back again on the right. Has anyone else experienced this after years of drinking ?:thanks

I'm glad you're here Zoe and I'm glad it's been ok for you so far :)

None of us are Drs - if you're concerned about any aches or pains you should really see a Dr yourself.

Welcome Zoe... your twinges could be your body adjusting, yor back pain sounds like kidneys, so stay hydrated--drink lots of water, cranberry pill supplements are good too also make healthy eating choicest your body will thank you. .... naturally if the twinges worsen seek out a medical professional... you can do this..

Welcome to the family. I hate to sound like a broken record, but see your doctor about your concerns. We can't diagnose you and it would be irresponsible of us to try.

I'm glad you joined us. You'll find lots of support here. :)
