My name is Jay Hi this my first time posting. I have been a heavy drinker for over 20years. My real father died from alcoholism. I am trying not to the same. I am now detoxing for the fifth time. Hallucinations are real. I never thought that I would experience something like that. Please help and prey that I make it thru. I want to be done. Thank you all for this site. |
Hello Jay and welcome ! You will find nothing but understanding and support here. You are in the right place. You can post here at anytime of day or night, in any time zone and someone who understands will be there to help you. Check out the Class of June 2015. Everyone there, including me, has stopped drinking this month. Some are on day 1, 2 or 3 others slightly further on in the journey. Fradley |
Welcome, Jay!! You can do this! |
Hi Jay Welcome |
Welcome to SR Jay! Read and post here often. It has been a tremendous help for me. Hugs and prayers for you on this new journey. You can do it! :) |
You can do this - I am right there with you. 30 year drinker - countless stops and countless returns to the nightmare of alcohol. No more. Want to live and be present. |
Welcome Jay. You will find lots of support here. |
Nothing has to be the same as what you have experienced in the past. You have the power to change it. Make sure you are safe and do not take any risks. You do not want to die if alcoholism but you do not want to die of withdrawals either mate. |
Welcome Jay. We are here to support you. Read and post. Someone is always here. |
Hi Jay, Welcome! You will get through this. Please read and post often, you will find a lot of support and similar circumstances. You are not alone in this struggle. Just think, if you chose not to drink, you will never experience that again. You can do this! |
Welcome to the family. :) You'll find lots of support here. :) |
This is my saving grace You all have been great. I will get thru this. I have a supportive wife and all my new friends. This not easy. I hope that one day we all can say we are free from the monster that is alcohol. I really am glad that my wife pointed me to you guys. Again thank you very much. |
Welcome Jay! I'm one week in and already feeling much better. A primary difference for me, this time, has been this SR group. This is a group of people who truly care and understand. You're not alone in this. Stay in touch often. You can do this. Best, D |
Jay, If your symptoms of withdrawal get bad, please go see your Dr. Your doctor will understand (they have heard it all before) and most likely prescribe some meds so you can detox SAFELY. My blood pressure would be through the roof when I detoxed, which can lead to stroke, kidney problems and heart attacks. The meds I was given took all those off the table. Be safe and best wishes.. |
Welcome to the Forum Jay!! |
Welcome to SR JayCooper |
Hey J - how are you doing? still hallucinating? do you think you need a Dr? D |
Hi Jay :welcome to SR. If the hallucinations keep happening, have someone drive you to the ER or call 911. Detoxing from alcohol can be dangerous. |
Welcome to SR,Jay! Glad you found your way here. |
I would go to the hospital. But I am afraid of the consequences. And yes I am afraid of all the above. |
