Just Checking In
Just Checking In
I have not been on here in awhile. But I just wanted to check in. I am now on day 63, and it is really getting easier. I have even been around someone drinking 5 or 6 times now without even thinking about drinking myself. Also not only do I feel better mentally, but my liver enzymes have went back to normal already so that is a major bonus for me. But I think the biggest thing for me is how much better of a mother I have become. I am much more "present" without alcohol. Life is getting better all around. If anyone out there is on their first few weeks, and reading this, I just want to say it gets easier. Don't quit. Life is so much sweeter when you are clear headed.
Thank you so much Amanda. Ditto with Sansa it's exactly what I needed too. I'm annoyed with my soberity this week. I don't really have urges but annoyed that I have to think about it all the time and the fact that I have to do this at all! I'm on day 19 (made a mistake yesterday with my days). I really appreciate the fact you came on here to pass on your encouragement. Looking forward to the day when I can do the same for others. Thank you

Thank you for posting, one of the key things for me is enjoying time with my son. He has been through hell and back this past 4 years, and deserves a present mom! I am on day 14 today, and had a few wobbles, but so far not fallen down.
Hi Sober Wolf
I am glad to hear it encouraged so many people. I really do need to make time to check in more. I feel like since it is summer, and school is out I have stopped posting. I need to make at least 15 minutes a day to get on here, because it truly does help. Plus it does make me feel good to know I can help people who are newer in their recovery. I had a lot of hard days the first few weeks, and a lot of people stepped up to help me. I need to pay it forward.

Thank you!
Amandamarie,
Thank you for the hope. I am only on day 5 (it's almost over ) and yesterday/today have been harder than the first 3. I think I was riding an adrenaline high at first but yesterday was a butt kicker.
It is great to hear that it gets easier.
Thanks again.
