Speaking of foulness, I toured a WWII secret sub repair facility. ACtually pretty amazing, the doors were two feet thick and double doors - nuclear protected. It was in a hidden bay. They carved a tunnel into the mountain. Very intricate inside with a lot of tunnels and storage etc. The kept nukyular stuff there also. Here is the entrance...

this is a layout of the tunnel, it doesn't show all of the side tunnels and compartments, I couldv'e spent a whole day there but we was warned to keep up with the group -- it was an underground maze, the mountain above it was 400 feet high

Woo hoo Work over for a week

Wow Ruby - I didn't see that while I was there, just some really ugly prefab offices with florescent lighting 1970's style. I did see some bird life though - some big flappy ones with long legs (cranes?). I am hopeless in the countryside

Mex my mum and dad have retired to Manningtree which is not far from Walton. Locals refer to it as Walton-on-the-Nose

Is that on the Black Sea? The Soviets test flew a giant aircraft somewhere round there I think (it says where on the voiceover but it doesn't mean anything to me)

V-8 juice and blueberries do not go well together. Add to that the fact I just brushed my teeth and it's a real taste disaster!

Cool pics everyone!

haf...have fun camping!

Study break for me. Hippo, I've registered to take the test in mid July. I've been half-heartedly studying for the past few months but I decided to stop fooling around and get on with it because I want to start school in the fall.

Gilmer, your an inspiration! I only briefly thought I might be too old to start this endeavor but then said who cares. I reckon there will be people of all ages in the program.

I need to catch up, but will do so after a much-needed run in the sun. This tropical storm stuff is for the birds.

Stay strong, bus riders!

I have bought some quinoa (pronounced keenwa apparently). Not impressed, it's pretty tasteless stuff and it's stuck to my non stick saucepan. Oh well, live and learn.

What are you studying Brynn?

so before I started back on the weeds I decided to pick a few blueberries.
six plants, 2 early, 2 middle and 2 late summer producing plants, in theory I should be able to pick blueberries until the end of summer,
this is about 2% from the first two in five minutes picking time...

sweeter and better than store bought... a few could've spent another day roasting in the sun, hard to tell when they are covered in 'white powder'.
Dark blue ones are tremendously sweet.

Earlier in the thread either Bim or Olive mentioned naked bike rides. This one made the headlines

I love quinoa in the morning with honey and almond milk. Or as a side with garlic and parmesan cheese.

That is very cool, Saou!

I lived in London for six months a long time ago. Did an internship. On my days off I use to take the underground to different neighborhoods and spend the day. One day, I can't remember where I went, but I was on my way home and waiting for the train. I was all alone in the station and I thought, 'that tunnel and tracks would make a cool picture', so I snapped one. Then I saw the sign that said no photography. It was months after I got home that I finally got that role of film developed...I was terrified I would be caught taking an illegal photo.
It is still one of my favorite pictures.

Welcome feren to SR and the weekender!

The bus always stops! There is always room! Funny how that is.

What are you doing to stay sober this weekend? Anything fun?

Ah the British Red Top newspapers Bim - they like to exaggerate. The Mirror used to be edited by that charmer Piers Morgan who your country had the good sense to fire

That sounds alright Della - actually once I had followed the recipe (chicken salad) it wasn't bad, I jumped the gun in saying I didn't like it.

Slight change of subject although it is connected to food, I now have to wear a belt with some of my trousers. I don't have a tape measure but it would be nice to buy regular sizes again, more choice in those sizes than there are in tugboat size

Hi feren! Welcome to weekenders. Anything goes.

Saoutchik, I like quinoa but I make a salad with it with a lemon and olive oil dressing. Mixed with various vegetable.

Brain, those blueberries look good. You have lots. Worth it.

Super villain's lair? I'm picturing Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy from Spongebob Squarepants. The very geriatric crime fighting duo. That'll be me.

I heard about the aroused guy from the headlines. Made me laugh, actually. I hear all sorts of stuff on my drives around the City, listening to the radio.
