I left the forum 3 1/2 years ago and now I'm back! Hello all. Really appreciated the support I was given here and always tried to reciprocate. Made it approx 3 months sober back then but eventually I became who I am and began drinking again. Been going at the bottle pretty hard lately and I am beginning to scare myself. Plus my oldest just turned 21 and I'm beginning to fear the terrible example I've set. Time for another go at it and this time I'm going to succeed! Too much to live for. Thanks in advance everyone. |
Welcome back! I hope you'll stick around and stay sober. |
Welcome back, ownmybehavior. There is a ton of great wisdom and support to be found here. Hope you'll take advantage of it and REALLY "become who you are" in recovery. |
Hi welcome! Nice to meet you. Stick with us. ...it works! |
Welcome back! |
Thank you all for your kind words. And yes, "it does work". I plan to stick around this time. |
Welcome back! Read and post often... it has been a lifesaver for me :) |
Very happy to see you back, own. We have to be ready. :) |

HI OMB. I remember you from that time, good to see you back. You deserve a better life, and you may have it. |
Welcome back, I had 3 months about two years ago, and then decided I could drink wine again, I will have 30 days tomorrow. Glad you are back as well! |

welcome back :) what's your plan this time? :) D I have a lot less drama in my life now than I did 3 years ago so I'm confident. Literally, one day at a time though at the moment. Staying involved here makes so much easier. Thanks again everyone for the kind words. OMB |
Welcome back, you are not the only one returning after a long time away :) Good luck. |
Thanks again everyone for the kindness. Day 2 so far and if you've read it once you've read it a thousand times. I felt great this morning. I can remember last night! And my throat isn't swollen and raw. Was sharp in the office this morning and hit the grocery on the way home and raided the produce dept. AV was speaking up a little while ago but reading Dave's posts quieted it down. Hoping that one of the benefits of my fight to conquer my demon is improved health and fitness. These 50 lbs aren't going to lose themselves. I see myself as Linda Blair after the exorcism. A little bit symbolically and some literally. Face, back, legs and mind. I want my 5 mile runs back! Also look forward to my 21 and 19 yr old daughters not eye-rolling over the phone when I call them after 7 at night. Also, what will I do with all the extra money? Booking a deep sea fishing trip for my girls and I to happen in the next few weeks. Onward I go. It's my day 2 people. Day 2. |
Great job on day2. Wishing you and good trip with your daughters! Sober memories friend, sober memories! Rock onward and upwards! |
