Hi

Does anyone know if there is a sticky anywhere on here about PAWS? I thought there was but I can't find one. I never paid much attention to it. Till I started to think I was losing my mind. Would this be something that would happen at almost 6 months or should I be past it? Thanks!

Right at six months I had really big changes. Soon after that things got lots easier. LOTS. I became much more settled and my brain felt like it was nearing normal around 10-12 months.

I had symptoms of PAWS up until about a year sober. It drove me nuts, the lack of concentration and poor memory. But it went away.

This the link I usually point folks to, Della

PAWS | Digital Dharma (thanks iycd

I added the link to the recovery plan sticky

It's important to remember though - not everyone gets PAWs, and the experience and manifestation can be so varied - I think it's one of the reasons why it's still not universally accepted as a 'thing'.

My experience was over by month 4, if that helps

Thank you all. That link was very helpful. I am not in danger of relapsing but emotionally I feel worse now than I did a month into it. I am doing most of the things it suggested so I guess I will just keep truckin. Thanks again.

There's a whole section in that link about things to do to help with Paws - it's worth reading

Lol Dee it did occur to me that maybe it's not even PAWS with me and perhaps I am just naturally a hot mess.
