Made it to 3!

Woke up to day 3 with a clear head and energy to burn. What a beautiful feeling. My job entails a lot of travel as I am in the travel field. I stay in hotels over 200 nights a year where there is always a bar open. The temptation is always there and they give airline crews discounts on alcohol to add to the urges. Last night when we arrived my crew wanted to all go down for cocktails. The AV voice was there screaming at me to go and join in. I got to my room and signed on to SR and stayed on for a few hours. Read, played in the arcade and then realized I was finally tired and laid down to rest....for 10 hours! What a great night. I slept like a rock.

I thanks everyone for these inspiring posts. I look forward to visiting frequently everyday for the strength to keep going. There is nothing like waking up with a clear head and not feeling ill.

I can get use to this. Have an awesome day friends!

Thanks for posting this, it's very helpful for me. After too many years, I finally asked for medical help yesterday. I can't wait to be able to share a post like yours. Congrats and good luck!!

What a great post! I imagine that it's hard when you are on the road a lot. Well, flying a lot. Thank you for sharing how you handled the invites and urges.

I never regretted "not" drinking, Kaiflyguy.

You can do this! I remember my first week, distracting my mind with the arcade and reading posts, until my eyes closed. I also reached out to the fine family we have here. It works right? :)

Have a wonderful day!

Well done on resisting that evil AV!!

There is no end of good stuff to read here - even the relapse threads sometimes have a nugget of help in them. It's good to remember where I came from, so I don't go back there.

The good thing is that we all keep adding to this site with our posts - hope to see you here often, Kaiflyguy .

Heroic performance . Well done, Sir!

Kaiflyguy...there is a bonus to this sobriety stuff. Freedom from worring abt FAA "Ramp Checks". It happens, though "they" say it doesnt.

Congrats on Day 3. Let the momentum build on it's self!

You CAN do this

Congrats on day 3, Kaiflyguy, and thank you for checking in! Building some accountability to myself and others has been an important part of my recovery so far. By checking in here, you are doing the same.
