Yep, the typical knockout rose variety that seems to tolerate the southern heat/humidity. I've also had good luck with the drift rose. It comes in red and doesn't get too big. Planted densely it may give you what you want. You'll have to prune them back each February. We've got 'peach drift'. They're a little past peak but still attractive. Kind of like me...haha!

I had some catching up to do around here too. And I agree that it feels awesome!

Was able to paddle on the lake today. Notice - no beer!!!! Absolutely loving this sober weekend. Thanks for the bus ride!
Plan to catch up on today's posts a little later tonight.

Lovely photos y'all!
We had a break in the heat today (sort of) so dinner on the patio which is rare for mid June here....spinach enchiladas with avocado and black beans. Our neighbors grill was going and you could smell the steaks cooking. I love that smell but can't stand to actually eat meat!...wish you could get the protein just from the smell.
We got an estimate yesterday for fixing the drainage problem on the west side of the house.....$7000! And the part that gets me is my partner is a geologist! Seems like he'd be able to do something about it but apparently it doesn't work that way.
Della...I'm in the same boat! I posted a pic once but I've never been able to do it since!

I know! Right?!?! It's ridiculous! I have two more people coming out Tuesday to give estimates. I think they can charge what they want right now since we've had so much flooding recently and they've got more business than they know what to do with......totally bites!

That red, purple and chartreuse are stunning. I love chartreuse foliage. I've got some creeping jenny that is a nice shade. If you're looking for ground cover I can attest that it is fairly hardy. It crept out of the pots I had it in last year and is now in my garden beds. I can't say it's invasive but it does spread. It's not like the morning glory that is everywhere with underground runners.
Hot hot hot in my house. Cooking. We have window units and husband just put one in the living room.
We had grill pan steak, sauteed mushrooms and cucumbers with Pillsbury biscuits. I'm going to make tuns macaroni salad for my lunch for the week. Cool!!!

All this talk about food is making me hungry again.
Such a busy weekend! I couldn't have done half of it if I was drinking. Got lots done around the house and had good visits with friends in between errands, pedicure, house projects, laundry, etc. It was a glorious weekend.
It's hot here too. I baked a spinach pie and that didn't help. But it was delicious.
Everyone's pictures are great. I don't know how to post them either. ..bah humbug.
Ok...time to rest.

The creeping jenny is nice
And it's also my name, lol. I like this one:

I'm going to put down paver stones leading to the gates in our fenced backyard, and this looks perfect for growing around the pavers.
And this creeping thyme is nice:

HAF....spinach pie sounds good! Don't think I've ever had such a thing!
I love the creeping jenny.....looks like something in an enchanted forest with fairies and such!! I have some sweet potato vine that's the beautiful chartreuse and pretty much takes care of itself but I like it in pots.
And I'm thankful for central AC!
