For debate .... To expect or not to expect is the question
Maybe what is needed for sobriety is what might be called a benevolent selfishness, which may seem a bit of a contradiction but could be interpreted as "Do it for yourself and don't get hung up on it if your success doesn't cause others to meet up to your expectations. People are human and different folks react differently. Get sober for yourself, not primarily for others."

Thank you all for your thoughts... Sorry for being absent a few days life has been hectic - which is good!
To respond to some of the thoughts shared above .... And you don't know how grateful I am that you all shared this- I am not in favor of being people pleaser. But I do care/expect from my loved ones . They are not that many and are very close to my heart. Their expectations from me also helps me in my current journey. I owe it to them as much I owe it to myself.
Please dint get me wrong. I know we have to do this for ourselves and I am still young in recovery... Though not young in age
