introducing myself again

Hello all.

Most of you don't know me. I managed to stay sober 8 months last year. Beautiful 8 months. Since then, i didnt drink everyday as i used to, but i tried to stop continuously, countless times, and failed after about a week, two, or three.
Usually, on my last attempts, alcohol craving got me. But this year, I have a special problem, my libido is totally lost when sober. And basically that is what held me back. But this time i'm gonna do it regardless. The fear of being a drunk overcome the fear of being alone. I have a doctor appoinment this week, and im gonna take the bull from it's horns.

Hi weirdesttoner,

That is definitely a good decision you are making and to be honest if you stay drunk for long enough you will end up alone libido or not.

Congratulations on going 8 months last year. It sounds like you just need a little extra push to make it permanent

8 mo is an accomplishment. I think you are smart to see a doc about your libido and not try to use alcohol as a libido enhancer.

Glad you made back!

Don't worry about your libido, I'm sure it will return.

Welcome back!

Good for you on seeing a Dr. I am sure they will be able to put your mind at ease. For a lot of people most normal body functions do seem to come back or regulate with time.

Good for you. I have struggled with libido problems as well. Talking to a doctor is a great first step. Write down what your doctor recommends and follow it.

I personally believe you can have your cake and eat it too.

Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome. I made my apoinment and tomorrow i'll see the doc.
I'm just gonna check in here everyday at first if that's ok and read a few posts.
I noticed that maybe that's why i kept failing, even after a month, 2 times this year.. i stopped coming here everyday and read other people's stories.. something i would have never do during last year..
So anyway, day one!
