Another reminder of the mess that is not too distant.Wife looking for remote in couch found a liquor bag and looked at me with that look, then found another and another final tally was 23 bags.Even thought its pathetic I laughed it off, just a reminder of the dark side.Put her into a bit of a foul mood.oh well its the past so far |
you found 23 bags under the cushions of your couch? |
You handled that very well. What's done is done. In the sofa? Yikes ;-) |
It is a large wrap around sectional,I would stow the quarts under the arms and the bags anywhere. That couch was home for many months. The 23 bags wasn't even a months worth of bags,in 8 months I was into the hundreds.Nobady in my life knows how much I was consuming just my doctors that's why they are amazed I am not in worse off.But it has been made clear to me the next bender could be the last one the liver among other things have been taxed heavily |
what's a bag of alcohol? Never heard of it. |
|
Ironically I saw a group of three girls drinking wine out of a bag today while waiting to get into a BYOB restaurant in little Italy in Boston. I could smell the cheap red wine wafting over from where I stood. It made me a little queasy. Ain't it grand to be free ? :) |
It is absolutely grand to be free!!!!!! I threw everything away on April 20th and I'm still finding stashes or empty bottles I hid. What a mess I was. |
mid april is my awaking also never felt better,,,ever |
About 1.5 years after I quit I found a bottle in a bag in my work room. Don't remember stashing it there. My spot was usually the garage or shed. Must have been towards the bloody end when my stashes were regularly being dug up. Lots of effort went into hiding something that was never really hidden. Too bad I didn't put all that effort into something productive. Great job getting clean. |
yes hiding was a big part of my game.I always had a stash somewhere just in case you know.At the end I called a cab to take me to the store bought 2 half gallons before rehab. At the very end I didn't care I just had bottels everywhere.....Feels good to talk about it and get more distance from that person |
Great job exwell. Life is so much better when sober. I too remember the days of stashing the alcohol. Before I was diagnosed with fatty liver and switched to beer and wine, I would replace the water in 17.5 oz bottles with vodka. Had those stashed around the house, in the yard, garage, car... So good to be free of that Hell! Great job and stay strong. |
Even though I live alone and very seldom have people over I still hid bottles and bags from myself. I was a drinking ostrich. If I can't see the bottle, I must not have it. Glad I don't have to live that way anymore. |
