Bimini im glad you found it useful ,
The mindfulness exersise is useful in a lot of situations and can be used by anyone which i like, a common truth for us all

David Sedaris was great tonight , witty and edgy with some of his jokes and tales , finding something to laugh about is always nice . It's nice to laugh to the point you nearly wet yourself without alcohol adding flame to that particular fire , if you get my meaning .

Me and mex-m8 had a nice walk along the beach afterwards just after sunset , Turner used to like Margate for the light , it is a spectacular and somehow the horizon seems to be much larger there .

When the tide was in i could see shoals of 100's of tiny fish looking down from the sea defences , m8 and I were the only ones looking at this marvel , an aqueous promenade more delicate and fleeting than anything going on above ground .

A glorious day in sobriety that i'd not have had if i were still drinking

Do it soberpotamus! Typical cost is $200. 60 seconds of free fall from 13k'. So worth it. I'm going to take my older daughters within the next couple years. My wife is a no go...not a chance...never in a million...lol

You will re-run the experience in your mind over and over. All the drinking and stuff I've done in my life don't come close to the feeling during and weeks after.

It's truly a beautiful activity. Especially if it's partly cloudy.

One thing that comes to mind that I've re-rerun through my mind many times is climbing a pyramid in Mexico It might sound tame in comparison (and it is), but not so to someone who is terrified of heights! It was quite an accomplishment for this big chicken

I am seriously considering doing it, MisterChill. I'd love to have the experience.

Phew! That was a lot to catch up on! You guys have been busy today!

Home now, work done, dog walked, garden watered. I can now relax for the rest of the evening. One more day and then the weekend.
I was going to continue this weekend my efforts to simplify my home and life, but they are saying 80's for Saturday and Sunday. I think a day at the beach is in order, there are many rocks to be selected.
My clutter will still be here when I get back.

Sounds like an absolutely perfect evening, mecanix!!

Be well, sober people!

Good evening everyone! Back from my hair appointment. Clean shiny teeth yesterday. Clean shiny hair today. My self improvement project. All told, it was a good day.

Behan, hang in there. It's good to talk about how you're feeling. You can do this. Truly. And honestly, I'm glad you stuck with M & S for new clothes. I looked at the cyberdog offerings and rather than cool and edgy, I thought they looked like cheap knock offs of bad '80s fashion. That is just my own opinion of course, and not that of the management.

So, I'm home and sitting on my back porch in the cool air. Stifling in the house. Need some water as im dehydrated and have a headache. Good to see everyone on here.

No skydiving or climbing pyramids in Mexico for me this weekend. Maybe someday.
misterchill....thanks for the information about skydiving. You make it sound doable and inviting. I would like to try it, I just don't know if I could jump out of the plane.
Ruby...I'm sure you look spiffy with your sparkling teeth and hair. Lol.
mns1....keep going. 2 days turn quickly into 20, you'll see. You can do it.
Ok...I'm off to bed. Early night for me since I'm my tired self.
weekend is almost here. ..yay!

HaF, now I just need a sparkling silver outfit from cyberdog to complete the look.

Hi beeraholic, welcome to weekenders! Enjoy the sober ride.

I'm headed for bed. Almost Friday. Looking forward to the weekend. See you all in the morning.

Morning everyone,

Mid thunderstorm here and I can also feel my hamstring a bit so no run this morning

Last day at work for a week, I enjoy the last day or two before a break as the anticipation is part of the pleasure of a break.

Great pic Dharma

Morning all,

Some very interesting posts overnight. Hi to all recent passangers!

Thank you for your kind words Ruby, as always.

I would love to try skydiving. I imagine the exhilaration would stay with you for a long time.

What are your plans for your time off Sao? Holidays will be a risky time for me. 'Firsts' to be planned for.

I do like David Sedaris Mex. I missed him playing last weekend.

I hope you enjoy the gym K. One day, I may exercise in the morning!

B

Ha ha B. I can only exercise in the morning. The evening I am too pooped!

Birds chirping... Sun rising. Ken leaving the homestead for the gym.

Lots of great conversations. And no. Nope. Nada. Ain't gonna do it. Did I say nope? Feet are meant for walking not flying. I have troubles even standing next to the edges of the cliffs here on the rocky coast of Maine. The dare devil left me eons ago.

See you all later!

I get to meet with the senior VP this morning to discuss my finding at the big meeting. All good stuff. Excited since I know he will love it.

remember to smile today.
