Stay Sober This Weekend June 4th Until.....
GS....I've driven past the one in Whitewright dozens of times on the motorcycle! Have fun!! Ken....you're a new man! Exercise, early-rising, and vacations.....what's next?!?!
Y'all....I'm embarrassed to admit this but what or who is Mex M8? I missed that somehow...sorry Mec!

Gettingsmarter, we watched a video of some skydivers recently - they were using some odd device, I mean wearing it. Like instead of the typical suit, they were using some suit that allowed them to glide, with wings built into it maybe? Do you know what I'm talking about it? I thought it seemed safer in a way, because at the end, they were able to glide in and land very precisely.
Skydiving is something I've wanted to try but just never made it a priority.
Do you like it?

That device would be called a wing suit and it's actually a bit more dangerous than jumping without one.
"Skydiving is the most fun you can have with your clothes on" is a saying in the skydiving community. It was my passion for years till the stupid bottle took over.

It gave me chills
That's amazing. I think I heard him state he's been doing it for 13 years maybe? And this is the first close encounter like that. Wow. Um, not sure skydiving is going to be happening for me, lol.

Hi all!
Went out shopping this evening after work. Twice in one week - a first for me! Either to attached to the wine in the past or physically unable to move in recent months. Think I am getting some energy back, but my anxiety levels are through the roof.
Mrs B picked up a fancy new iphone. I got some badly needed work clothes. Just M&S for me, none of that fancy newfangled cyberdog stuff that Soa sports!
Well, brain is racing and manic now. Have silenced this thursday feeling with beer for years. Not now. Actually, not being hungover on a friday is still a novel experience for me.
Mrs B is starting to look really beautifully pregnant now.

That stuff is dangerous. Regular skydiving is statisticaly as dangerous scuba diving.

Jeb Corliss is a pretty amazing person. He pioneered the evolution of wingsuits. His passion for base jumping and wingsuit flying is pretty admirable. He's only doing it to satisfy himself. He almost killed himself doing a low pass over a cliff. Recovered from a lot of broken bones and went right back to it.'
I would never consider anything that dangerous but I have gone skydiving twice. Tandem of course. It's actually very safe and amazing. It's something you replay in your mind basically forever. The natural rush stays with you for weeks. Anyone can do it.
To answer the common questions:
Do you actually have to do anything? nope
Does free falling actually feel like falling? nope. Feels like you stuck your head outside of a speeding car but the view is ridiculous and a sensational feeling.
Does it hurt when the parachute opens? nope. Don't even feel it. Goes from deafening roar from the wind to silence in seconds
Is landing hard? nope. Just lift your legs and skid on your butt. You can't land on your feet with 2 people tied together. You'll trip. So you skid painlessly with no noticeable impact
What if the instructor passes out or the chute doesn't open? There is a reserve chute will open automatically at a preset atlitude if the instructor doesn't do it first.
What's the scariest part? hanging halfway out of the airplane before you drop. You will be in front of the tandem. That part is a little scary but everything happens so quick you don't have much of a chance to dwell.
If you think you have it in you, put it on your bucket list. It's beyond words.
