Lilly you best keep an eye on that cake.
If it's lemon cake with extra lemon your just going to have to share it or I might cause trouble.

I'm having a pretty awful day

Gunfire today in a store. I was already in the parking lot close to my car, thankfully. Same store where I witnessed an argument and gunfire two weeks ago. It is so surreal. This is not a violent town. I have never before witnessed gunfire in close range like this... and then suddenly, back to back, days apart.

On top of that, I have PMS which is making me sad and distraught. I nearly cried over a bird today. It was in the ceiling, on the rafters, trying to escape through a sunlight.

Then, I nearly cried when I saw this elderly couple walking together.

Wtf??

I've had better days.

Soberpotamus, that must have been very scary. I'm glad you are safe. As for the other stuff, hang in there today. I get weepy on some days over any number of things. What helps me is to relax with my eyes closed and take deep breaths. Then slowly and gently curl the edges of your lips up like you would while smiling. It almost always instantly lifts my mood.

Hugs potamus! Gunfire's scary enough without PMS . I get weepy too over the littlest things..... Just keep telling yourself it's PMS and it will pass....oh, and don't make any big decisions till it's over (that's one of my rules with myself). ❤️

GS....where do you skydive?

I'm in for sure. No big plans. Just a normal weekend. Well, normal except for the no drinking thing. I haven't been through nearly enough sober weekends to call them "normal" yet. This weekend will mark d19-21. Feeling really really good about that.

Remember the seltzer talk we had a couple weeks back? I've have a pattern now...haha. Regular cheap Lime Refresh during the week. At least a 6 pack a day. Love them. Friday nights and weekends start with Polar Cranberry Lime and Pomegranate or St. Croix Mixed Berry. Then back to the cheap stuff.

One thing is for certain. Hydration is absolutely not an issue on my sober trek.

So smart. Yeah, I've tried to keep this rule, myself. Today I was actually in a position to negotiate with a client over the phone some details that I decided to put off until tomorrow. I was in a weird headspace and was able to recognize that. I also argued with my husband and a friend on the phone, and caught myself there too. Decided to cut both calls short. We were all discussing the work decision that I decided to put off until tomorrow, lol. EVERYONE seems to have an opinion.

Oh, speaking of seltzer, I tried La Croix's CranRaspberry... wow, it's the best so far! It has more flavor than the others. Or at least, I thought so. My husband said it reminded him of some cough syrup from childhood Oh well.

That's Caribbean Surf Food: Casado con Pollo. Chicken in Caribbean sauce, rice, mashed plantains and a side salad. Standard fare in these parts, will be heading back to that joint this evening for another go-round!

I hope you are feeling better now Jennie. Not surprising that you are upset, it must have been awful.

Some comfort food needed I think

Dang potamus that's scary. What's really crazy is that you live in a safe part of town and it happened twice. I'm not sure if I'd shop in that store.

Brynn there a 2 places close to the metroplex. Skydive 35(Hillsborough) is south and is Skydive Dallas(Whitewright) is north. Both are good safe places. I'm going to the north Texas facility to get current.

Thanks, Saoutchik. And thanks, Ruby. And ZaBoozer.

I might have some peach ice-cream tonight Just had an almond flavored pastry. Shared it with the dogs. Not supposed to give them sugar, but darn it, it's so hard not to treat them when they look at me with "Beagle eyes." Lol! They are experts.

Just watching a TV programme titled "The Truth About Your Teeth"

It's a tough watch.

I felt **** just having one tooth extracted. Some of these people have got to lose the lot

Gettingsmarter, we watched a video of some skydivers recently - they were using some odd device, I mean wearing it. Like instead of the typical suit, they were using some suit that allowed them to glide, with wings built into it maybe? Do you know what I'm talking about it? I thought it seemed safer in a way, because at the end, they were able to glide in and land very precisely.

Skydiving is something I've wanted to try but just never made it a priority.

Do you like it?
