Stay Sober This Weekend June 4th Until.....
On my way home from the Stones concert!! They are still amazing!!
my parents were huge Rolling Stones fans, so I was raised on them....My mom would've loved this. Saw a lot of multi-generational families tonight and it reminded me of some of the good times with my parents.

morning all ,
Aspiring adventurists , adventurers , back yard fire pit gatherers , beachers and home life livers , TV watchers .
It all sounds good, I always thought even if my weekends were miserable that i'd rather that than the madness , selfishness and illness alcohol caused me .
Luckily it's not as bad as imagined .
To me by changing how we respond to the world , how we deal with stuff, as we start to handle things differently, things slowly start to change in the world and people around us .
Change can be scary and i know a lot of us who have what we have find it so , with change though comes great opportunity .
Whats the step i can take today , pay it forwards to the future me ?
41 today , life is going far too quick and i often feel like scooby and shaggy from the hannah babera cartoons when they are running but standing still .
Yet i have to be careful , the longing to be doing things like walk the Camino de Santiago sometimes have an adverse effect on my happiness now .
I have vague dreams , i try not to put time scales on them , but i try and see where the next step on the path is .
Focusing on what i can achieve next on this path has been far more useful to my sobriety than focusing on what i doubt i can achieve in 5 years time .
There is a peace to be had in the walking of the next step , the doing of a thing the planting of it sure-footedly .
For sure i'm halfway and maybe further along this way of life .
With sobriety tucked under my arm , i feel peace and faith as long as i focus on whats happening today , keep the alcoholic ego in it's cage , life here and today can be rewarding and worthwhile .
Have a great day everyone , if not that then a thankfully sober one at least , m

Happy birthday Mr Mex! Sure, you're only a spring chicken!!!!
A few friends have done sections of the camino, some in their 20s, some in their 60's. Last time I ascended Croagh Patrick in Mayo, I was accompanied by a feisty gentleman in his 70s! We can accomplish these things at any age as long as we have two lips, two lungs, and a leg or two.

Hi boys and girls. Got back to the mainland a bit ago.
Discovered a tick on mrs brain. We spent a lot of time in woods. Removed it in two pieces but was able to dig it out. Several concerns... waiting to hear backnfrom doctor. Times like this it's great to be living in the usa.
Had a very trying last couple days. Sil went mental. And we were in a far away place ... long story but asidenfrom the tick all is well.
I need to do an inspection of me and her and our clothes we slept in last. Most interesting camping trip ever. You'll have to wait for 4th book.
stay well sober friends. I didn't read anything. I need to conserve battery.

Happy Birthday Mex
Good Sober Sunday Morning All!
I am typically an early riser, but slept in this morning. At 45 minutes past the time the dogs normally get breakfast I had a 50-pound hound (Abbey) laying on my chest licking my ear and neck. I suggested to Mrs. Non she could learn from Abbey how to get me to do whatever she wants and then rolled out to start my day.
We had guests last night and they arrived with a bottle of vodka. I think this is the first time we've had hard liquor in the house since I sobered up. It was spiking some AV activity for me. I was glad when it left. They tried to leave it (they don't know) but Mrs. Non gracefully slipped it into their bag as they were leaving. Instant relief when it was out of the house again. Still not ready to stock liquor here. Maybe some day...
Be well all!
