Maturdating? Never heard of it. But I do enjoy taking myself out on a date. ( since no one else is doing it). The mispell was quite a slip and had me chuckling, thanks weasel.
Siesta time here...just did all my errands and had lunch. Now it's time to rest a bit. Although. ..it's getting cloudy and I haven't put the tent up yet. It can wait until tomorrow.

It's the calm before the storm. My two daughters and their families are descending on our house tonight for a big birthday party for my oldest. The good news is I am absolved from cooking! All I did was go out and fetch the ingredients!

I'm HOT. Too hot to be outside, too hot to be inside. Went to the beach and the sun is pretty darn intense...wish I could breathe underwater!
That's 35 and 49 for non-Americans. Thunder rolling in finally, hoping for some cooling rain here in the rainforest. Pretty sure it's gonna happen, just can't get here soon enough!

I haven't been to the beach since 2004--and you go every other week! I am eaten alive with jealousy, intense heat or not!

Gilmer, I'm the descending daughter and family today but I don't have to cook either. My mom invited us over for burgers at a going away party for my sister in law and niece and nephew. They leave for China for a month on Monday. I do have something I'm going ti make if my chicken isn't bad

Oops. It's my brother I'm descending on, not mother. Mom wants to get there in time to watch the Belmont. Will there be a triple crown winner this year? Been 37 years.
Making chicken, kale spaghetti. I should have prepped ingredients in advance to make it faster and less hectic. Waiting on spaghetti water. Pretty tasty though.

Chinese take out this evening . Have loaded some stuff in the van, more to go yet .

Today was a hard day. My sister is back living with my parents and it's not easy. My mom told me "it's great when you come home for the weekend. You bring some joy into the house!" She never said that before! I told her that I would not be home next weekend because I have already made plans next Saturday to stay with my friend. Her husband will be away and we will probably watch a movie or something. I haven't seen her since their wedding a month ago. Also my colleagues are going out next Friday and they asked me to join them. I haven't decided whether to go or not yet but to be fair I never drank in bars. I drank alone in my flat. Anyway that's beside the point. My mother's response to this was "will there be alcohol there?" I was like "yeah probably". Although I doubt that my colleague are huge drinkers. They don't give me that impression.
I told her I am working hard. I don't go out a lot and I deserve some fun and to do nice things. One thing I have learned from working in a hospital is that I am very lucky. After everything I did to myself I'm still here. I'm alive. And life is so short.
I know that my mother worries a lot but she really knows how to push my buttons.
