We have family ties "up north" as well, as a young lad I spent many summers on the farms of Sandstone, the lakes of Brainerd, and of course the shores of Lake Superior up by the Canadian border. Can't find a better place to be (in the summer)!

Took a long lunch and flew one of my rc planes for an hour. I was completely alone in a field with totally still air. Not a soul in sight. No fumbles. Just a perfect connection with my eyes, thumbs, and plane. Almost felt like mind control. Walked backed to the car with my mind and in a really good spot. Nice way to set the mood for the weekend ahead.

Morning everyone, I've got that bubble of excitement in my chest I think only positivity and hope brings. No real reason to feel excited but I do.

Pretty sure it's not a panic attack....

Welcome Billy! Alone and board are no match for the sober weekender team. How are you doing?

We meet every weekend to share about how living sober can be fun and full.

I am home from work. Met with the big big boss... Happens to be a friend from an old job... Very great man with everything he has done for so many... He is the kind of person that takes everyone along to the top with him. Well.... He loves what I did this past week. He hinted that he has a plan for bigger things. That's nothing he says unles it's true. So I think a lot of cool things are in my near future work wise.

I will tell ya I feel blessed. Not one second of this is lost on me or by me on drinking. I arrive everyday BE&BT (let's see how gets that!)

This is the first job that I let down my walls. I speak freely of my life. I apologize to know one for success and I know when I goof up and own it.

I am just so damn happy.

Sober is as sober does!

I'm 23 days sober today, and i am feeling good. The weekends can be tough, thats the time the urge to drink usually come on the strongest for me. But im determine to fight with all my might, not to take up that first drink. I plan to stay away from people who drink, places where alcohol may be had, eat, dont get angry, listen to some soothing music, stay on this sight and so some reading, plus play my guitar. Im on the sober weekend bus.

Well this is depressing

Home for the weekend. Bought my parents a card, some flowers and a red velvet cake because I think a 42nd wedding anniversary should be marked in some way, and also now that I have a bit of money coming in, I like to do nice things for people.

My father smiled and said "you shouldn't waste your money". But I know he was pleased. My mother loved the flowers and said I always was a sweet and thoughtful child. She gave me an awkward hug and said "you are so like your father. He was just about your age when he started getting the same frown lines as well!" To which my dad replied "well, it was probably due to stress and worry".
I may be about the same age as Nicole Scherzinger but unfortunately I don't have her lifestyle.

I'm off to drink camomile tea and slather myself in some sort of face cream...and try not to cry
