Stay Sober This Weekend June 4th Until.....
Best of luck with job opportunity Soberpotamus!!
I hope the CV goes well Ruby.
Nearly home time for me. Glad to get out of this place for two days. Zero motivation.
Will be mostly packing and organising this weekend in preparation for the big move.
Weather is just awful here - rain, wind, 5 seconds of sun; typical Irish summer. It usually gets uncomfortably hot and sunny at this time of year to coincide with school examinations.
Catch ye folk later.

Maybe I will go to Snuffers and get those fried pickles? With the remaining money... oh, I dunno... get a new car? A trip to Paris?

Hardee-har-har! And very cool, AF. It's amazing that those things actually work: about a year ago I joined a class-action suit against Naked Juice, they claimed they were sugar-free but there was tons of sugar in there. I think I got a check for $12.50 or something down the line - certainly not the huge sums that you accumulated, but certainly a nice surprise. Congrats!
Back from la playa. Went to a small secluded beach out in the wilderness, not a human in sight. Could hear monkeys howling in the trees but could not see 'em as they were too far off. The water was so clear this morning, and there were some perfect waves. I was able to swim out and when a wave approached and went over my head, it was like looking through a clear glass window right into the ocean, really cool.
Finding peace and strength in this world is something you cannot put a value on. Giving up my old job, the money, my old apartment, and DRINKING was worth all the sacrifices and then some. You can do this, new folks! Make the discovery of your own peace and harmony a goal in your sobriety!

To echo Nonsensical's great words for everyone:
Change is possible.
Hope is reasonable.
You can do this.

BigS...it sounds wonderful where you are and congratulations for making it happen. I truly believe that amazing things happen in sobriety. We open the doors to so many possibilities once we get rid of the booze.

Good to hear that, hippo! Amazing how everything can change in just a day.
I'm good....back on track and feeling hopeful!
BigS....so true! Inner peace is invaluable and what everyone seems to be searching for via 'stuff'.

The battered SUV Pic up Thread ain't mine. That Pic was from the Storm yesterday. Some Houses got 'remodeled' yesterday, too. Wicked Flooding North of us.

MSN Auto is a neat Resource. I've used it for both Used and New Vehicle Searches. I've helped a few Teacher/Gal Pals buy new. Having all the Dealer Invoice/Pricing info in my back Pocket ensures they don't wind up smoking a Cigarette by the end of Negotiations, if you catch my drift. Knowledge is power, and all that. Dealer Price Info certainly helped me buy my new Truck last Summer for ~$10k off MSRP.
MSN Auto Research
Ripping Storm Clouds and Thunder just moved out. Sunshine now.
Well, Life's a Beech, and then you marry one. As a former Boss of mine used to say. We got a cracked Heat Exchanger in the House Furnace leaking a tad of Carbon Monoxide. As I kinda expected on a ~28 year-old Furnace, which I why hired this House Inspector Dude up front. Paging Mister Ben Dover... At least we can get a nice Furnace put in off-peak this A/C Season time of the year.
This Pic kinda speaks for many of us here, eh? If nothing else: use only Sober Tattoo Artists.
