Newly Sober
Hi All, Thanks for accepting me to the site. I am 12 days in to my sobriety and doing OK. I have been having wicked headaches and nightmares and wonder if that is part of the detox. I wasn't drinking a whole lot but it was every day without fail. Today I am grateful for my sobriety and my husband who is an amazing support to me.
Thanks for listening..

Hello and welcome.
Quitting alcohol can manifest itself in many ways.
I've been sober over four years, and last night, out of no where, I had a drinking dream. Weird.
I've got to stick around this place to help me stay sober. Reading Newcomers posts, like yours, remind me that I can never drink safely.
I went through many things in early sobriety. So stopping drinking may be the cause of your nightmares and headaches.
But not to worry, things get better with time and there's nothing that having a drink will help.
I'm glad you found us and have the support of your husband.
Just remember, you never have to drink again.

Hi Kate,
I'm 45 days into my recovery. The physical side of things improved after a few weeks. I still occasionally have drinking dreams (This morning I woke up convinced that I'd blown my sobriety!!!) but that's about it. The beginning for me was about riding out a storm but now I feel I'm moving into a different place where I feel I have to be wary and not get complacent about having ridden it out.
So glad you made it here. SR has made my sobriety a reality. I plan to continue on this road in the days, weeks and hopefully months and years to come. Welcome aboard!

Hi and welcome.
As stated see a doctor if these things concern you. Fortunately many alcohol related maladies, caught early, are repairable with time away from alcohol.
There is much help here from a lot of people with good recovery so it’s suggested to read a lot of posts.
I’m grateful to have visited your beautiful country for several months and attended a good number of AA meetings on both islands. I was pleasantly surprised to find meetings in some areas, always pleased with meeting so many wonderful people.
BE WELL
