One year, what i learned

1. Finding spirituality has helped me not only overcome alcohol but find deeper meaning and love in my life. 2. Alcohol was never going to enhance me as a mother, wife, friend or improve how I fell about myself. 3. Lots of people I thought drank just like me really didn't. I can't drink without being obsessive and wanting more and more. 4. I can have just as much fun if not more without drinking even when dancing, social situations, sex, and don't need alcohol to cope with life. 5. My like is richer and the moments more vibrant than when I drank and was consumed with the buzz, how I felt instead of being in tune with the world around me and people around me. 6. This was the hardest thing I have ever done but the most rewarding and positive thing I have done for myself and my family.

Congratulations on one year of sobriety! Good job! And, thanks for all your support for our members.

I agree with all your comments, especially the spirituality comment. I had completely lost any spiritual connection with myself and hence found so much of life simply pointless. I had to find a deeper purpose in order for me to carry on.

Yes, developing a sense of spirituality is key for me as well. I simply cannot imagine sobriety without the seeking of a divine meaning............

Onward and upward!
