Waking up in the wee hours of the morning on the sidewalk drenched in sweat and vomit in a completely foreign part of town not knowing how you got there.

Not knowing what I did or said. Not being able to rely on myself.

Sooo I was really struggling a bit tonight but after reading this thread I feel strong enough to let the sun set on this day alcohol free. I saw myself in so many of those examples......Thank you all

-Waking up from my heart pounding out of my chest and hoping the vomit will calm the heart down enough to fall back asleep and hopefully survive the night.

Making a mental list of which store is next up in the daily wine shop rotation so I didn't buy from the same place 2 days in a row (and/or which cashier).

Then getting to ...who gives a s*** if I was here yesterday- everyone must know I'm a drunk by now!

Waking up in the morning and realizing my husband left in the middle of the night, knowing it was my fault because I was being a drunk a$$ psycho, but not knowing exactly what I did so I couldn't even try dig myself out of the mess...

...and then grabbing a 12 pack to make it feel better.

As if that would help the situation!

Trying to recall where I left my car
Finding strangers in my house
Calling the cops cause my random pick up took my car while I'm sleeping and left it on the other side of town.
Calling taxis
Getting thrown out of bars
Wondering where all my money went
Having women try to beat me up
Having men try to take advantage of me
Wreck kitchen from midnight snacking
Lost phones
Lost keys
Lost Gucci sunglasses
Waking on the train at the last stop of the night and my stop is 50 miles the other way

Some of the reasons why it's a good idea that I quit drinking that haven't been mentioned

Being able to buy the things I need when I need them, instead of spending every cent on booze.
