Day 28
Day 28
Good morning! Anyone else out there on day 28 today?
Day 28 was my downfall on my last attempt. I feel different this time because I have learned so many new things about myself from reading, thinking, and my SR friends.
I feel nervous today, bored, awake WAY too early, missing the fun drunk me. I know that fun me turns into evil me so I am trying to get the thought out of my head.
It's rainy and gray here, a day we normally would spend in the bar watching baseball and having a good time.
I don't really have a craving to drink exactly. I have a craving to let go and have a good time. I don't know how to do that without drinking. I haven't figured it out yet...

Congrats on 28 Kat! You will figure it out. Back in the 90's there were so many of us under 40 we started an activity committee within our AA group. Took our cue from NA. Went camping, midnight bowling, late night every sat. nite w/food, music and board games at the building . Kind of a lively coffee shop scene. Make it happen. Some of us were music lovers and went to see a lot of acts as a sober group. Fun times. You can make it happen and will. Takes some getting used to but the learning curve is swift.
Congratulations on 28 days AllieKat
Not drinking does leave a hole, especially at the beginning but you just have to work at building up other activities -all the things you were interested in before the drinking took over

AllieKat - congrats on 4 weeks!!! I so relate to your comments about not letting go sober. Most of the people in my life don't drink. You'd think I would be able to enjoy life without alcohol. This time I am going to seek out sober people in recovery. I think they're on a natural high, making it easier to let go and have fun. Keep on keeping on.
Funny you said do the things I did before. :-) I just got back from the bookstore where I bought a book by an author I constantly read before I ever started drinking.

It took me a while to learn how to relax and let go but it was eorth the effort
Here are some more suggestions here on fun stuff to do:
