I've begun to see a psychiatrist, and I need up on paxil for anixety and depression. Ever since the paxil, I've wanted to drink more! Smh. She has now included Klonopin into the mix. Not safe at all to mix with booze but it had helped with my extreme aniexty. Just not safe to take with booze.

I would recommend talking to your doc about vistaril for anxiety and naltrexone for alch/drug cravings. I take vistaril and naltrexone, they're non addicting and they work well for me. Never been on Paxil but I take lexapro and Wellbutrin for depression, they seem to help.

Often medications for depression or anxiety need to be adjusted, and I think its something many of us have experienced. Try keeping a log of how your feeling - because often it takes a little bit of time to get the full effect of the meds. Then you can share it with the doctor very easily.

If you have any concerns Dreaming going back to the prescribing Dr is the best idea.

You're not a lost cause, Dreaming123! Some folks just have a longer road to get to the place they need to be, but that doesn't mean it's hopeless. You can come out the other side stronger than you've been before.
