Every time I take our kites out, the wind dies down. I bought really cheap, almost no fail, kites at Walgreens for the kids and I love them. We'll get them out again this summer.

Weas, I used to do a lot of things solo. I think its fantastic that you are sharing your time with us. Thank you very much. And the rollicking nature of everyone's posts sort of brings to mind a party bus. The banter we all have when we're relaxed and having a good time, with some serious discussion interspersed to keep it going.

The other day I was talking about summer plans, and I realized I didn't have anything on the radar.

I felt sorry for myself for a second, but now Weas, you just may have convinced me to do a solo staycation. And I mean a "real" staycation...where I tell a little white lie to my co-workers that I'm actually going somewhere so they don't think I'm just at home and so can attend to "small" things that always seem to come up.

I've taken to admiring hippos in sobriety and have not a clue why... I guess I have always loved their looks and demeanor. I read a lot about them and find them interesting. The babies are cute and the adults can be ferocious. They look so happy when they're relaxing in rivers.

Well, sounds like one of those sadnesses that are good for the soul maybe, to work things out and synthesize things.

Have you had any good coffee on your staycay yet?

This vacation is nowhere near long enough , why do i always start feeling that way half way through and it makes me a bit sad

I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and helpfulness this last couple of days. Lots going on for me this week. My mothers death date this friday and just learning to navigate time off soberly is a lot it seems.

Time to jump over to the weeekender. You have been awesome vacation mates!
