I have 29 months... (If that's considered long term) .. I'll just add that in looking back I would have done a couple things differently ...... Like wpainterw, I would not have isolated for so long that first year of sobriety. I should have found a sober group of like minded sober individuals..... And I also would have forgiven myself a lot sooner than I did.

I hardly have a lot of sobriety (about 15 months) but I'll add my 2 cents.

Nothing would have made me quit sooner. I drank as long as I could stand it.

It would have made my recovery a lot easier if I had seen a doctor when what I thought were cycles of PAWS kept getting worse instead of better after 6 months.

I don't believe there was anything I could have done to quit sooner. I wasn't ready to admit my life had become unmanageable. Up until that moment, I thought drinking had value.
